Invenţia se referă la microbiologie, şi anume la o tulpină de fungi, care poate fi utilizată pentru descompunerea substanţelor xenobiotice ce poluează mediul înconjurător.Tulpina de fungi Penicillium verrucosum Dierckx var.cyclopium, depozitată în Colecţia Naţională de Microorganisme a Institutului de Microbiologie al Academiei de Ştiinţe a Republicii Moldova cu numărul CNM-FP-02, posedă proprietatea de a descompune concomitent metalaxilul, benzotiazolul şi 2-hidroxibenzotiazolul.
