The invention refers to microbiology, namely to a fungi strain that may be used for decomposition of xenobiotic substances polluting the environment.The Penicillium verrucosum Dierckx var.cyclopium fungi strain, deposited with the National Collection of Microorganisms of the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Moldova under the number CNM-FP-02, possesses the property of concomitantly decomposing the metalaxile, benzothiazole and 2-hydroxybenzothiazole.
