Abstract

The invention relates to a process for obtaining alternative sources of ecologically pure fuel.The proposed process for obtaining methyl esters from rapeseed oil includes the transesterification of rapeseed oil with methanol, taken in stoichiometric ratio in the presence of potassium hydroxide, separation of mixture phases and removal of residual catalyst.Novelty of the invention consists in that prior to the introduction of methanol into the rapeseed oil is added 4…5% of glycerine and is mixed at the temperature of 25°C. The transesterification is carried out at the temperature of 60°C and the pressure of 12…15 mPa, and removal of residual catalyst is carried out at the temperature of 85°C by washing with water in the quantity of 10% about the initial oil mass.
