Abstract

The invention relates to the road facilities and may be used for spreading sand, salt or other loose materials onto the foot-paths, for example, when they are covered with ice. The sand spreading device contains a trolley with handrail 2, onto the frame 1 of which there are mounted turning 4 and running 3 wheels, a sand tank 5 with outlet opening in the lower part thereof and a sand spreader 7, placed thereunder, equipped with drive. Novelty consists in that the sand spreader 7 includes a disk with blades bent in the form of arch rigidly fixed onto the vertical shaft 6, radially placed onto the base, directed towards the outlet opening of the sand tank 5, made circular. The vertical shaft 6, the upper end of which is mounted in the upper part of the sand tank 5, is placed into the outlet opening coaxial to it. The drive of the sand spreader 7 contains a friction roller, installed with the possibility of contacting with the hub of one of the running wheels 3, and a flexible shaft 8, one of the ends of which is joined with the roller axle and the other - with the lower end of the vertical shaft 6. Onto the handrail 2 there is articulately mounted a lever for changing the modes of operation, the other end of which is joined by a flexible rod with the spring-loaded axle of the friction roller. The sand spreading device may be provided with a reflecting plate, mounted onto the frame between the sand spreader and the handrail.
