Invenţia se referă la agricultură şi poate fi aplicată la selecţia tomatelor.Procedeul de obţinere a formelor recombinante de tomate include încrucişarea genitorilor ce diferă după caracterele masa fructului şi precocitatea, obţinerea hibrizilor F1, infectarea hibrizilor F1 în faza de 4…6 frunze cu virusul mozaicului tutunului şi cu virusul X al cartofului, separarea seminţelor din fructele plantelor infectate, obţinerea populaţiilor segregante F3-F4 şi selectarea formelor recombinante ce îmbină caracterele masa mare a fructului şi precocitatea.Rezultatul constă în sporirea numărului de forme recombinante ce îmbină caracterele masa mare a fructului şi precocitatea.
