Abstract

The invention relates to a process for structural metal protection from corrosion and may be applied in shipbuilding, bridge building, water-development works, in the branches of power, dairy and meat processing industries. The process, according to the invention, includes measurement of the metal stationary potential in corrosive medium, determination of value of the protection potential equal to the potential of conversion of the metal surface charge, application onto the metal and maintenance of the established protection potential from of external constant-current source, the value of the protection potential being determined by polarization of the metal-corrosive medium system with periodic current with back impulse, rapid break in the external polarizing circuit during the course of the current direct and back impulses, obtaining of the potential time variation curves and fixation of the potential value in the curves meeting point, corresponding to the spontaneous droop of the potentials from the current direct and back impulses. The result consists in increasing the degree of protection of the structural metals from corrosion. Claims: 1Fig.: 2
