Abstract
The invention relates to a process for obtaining of intermediate drimenol, which is used in the synthesis of biologically active compounds and of compounds with odorant and aromatizing properties. The process consists in treating the drimane-8α, 11-diol 11-monoacetate with 30% sulphurous acid solution in ethyl alcohol, exposure to room temperature up to reaction ending, the course of reaction being monitored by thin-layer chromatography.
