Abstract
Un procédé intégré pour la synthèse d'ammoniac et d'acide nitrique, comprenant la production d'hydrogène à partir de l'électrolyse de l'eau, est contrôlé par une commutation sélective entre un premier mode de fonctionnement et un second mode de fonctionnement, dans le premier mode de fonctionnement, de l'ammoniac étant produit en excès et étant stocké dans un stockage d'ammoniac approprié ; dans le second mode de fonctionnement, l'ammoniac provenant dudit stockage d'ammoniac étant utilisé pour fournir une entrée supplémentaire d'ammoniac à la production d'acide nitrique ; la commutation entre ledit premier mode et ledit second mode est basée sur la quantité d'énergie qui est transférée à l'électrolyse de l'eau.
