Abstract
The invention relates to the construction and operating principles of a working chamber of a lyophilization apparatus. The invention is mainly applicable to the production of lyophilized food, biological and pharmaceutical products without or with regularly shaped surface morphology during the sublimation process. The invention provides a more efficient and uniform implementation of the sublimation process of water or other sublimable solids (such as naphthalene, iodine and carbon dioxide) from objects to be lyophilized with any geometric shape and composition and structure affecting the sublimation process.The tips of the rods of the pins inserted in the physical screen of the present invention can be lowered to the top surface of the object to be lyophilized, providing more efficient freezing of the object to be lyophilized or a more efficient supply of heat energy for sublimation. This technique is also effective when most of the upper surfaces of the lyophilized object is not parallel to the surface of the physical screen.
