Potenciālās pielietojumu jomas ietver būvniecību, autobūvi, ķermeņa sensorus, veselības aizsardzību, robotiku u.c., kur nepieciešams noteikt laikā mainīgu objektu formu un monitorēt tās izmaiņas laikā, piemēram, cilvēka ķermeņa formu vingrojumu laikā, krūšu kurvja formu un diametru elpošanas laikā vai nesošās konstrukcijas formu tās slogošanas laikā.
