Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a device for determining the shape of an object using special structures with integrated orientation sensors connected to the object. Structures used allow determination of both tensile and bent object deformations. Potential applications include construction, automotive, body sensors, healthcare, robotics, and other, where it is necessary to detect and monitor changes in the shape of objects over time, such as for example the pose of the human body during exercise, the shape and diameter of the chest during breathing, the shape of the load-bearing structure during loading.
