Abstract

The invention relates to analytical chemistry, in particular to methods for the determination of environmental contamination, and can be used for the selective quantification of twenty-eight pharmaceutical compounds and for the qualitative identification of the most common metabolites of pharmaceutical compounds (<200 compounds) in untreated and purified municipal wastewater. and a negative ionization mode combined with an ultra high resolution Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry detector in full mass detection mode. Samples are prepared by the dispersive method, using a mixture of water and acetonitrile (50:50 by volume) and a mixture of magnesium sulphate / sodium chloride (4: 1 by volume) for extraction, and further processing of the extract using acetone and reconstruction of the samples in water / methanol for analysis ( volume ratio 8: 2) with 0.1% formic acid. The method provides fast and efficient sample preparation for the analysis of both basic and acidic compounds, using an instrumental method with improved sensitivity and accuracy for direct detection of pharmaceutical substances and spectroscopic screening of drug residues in wastewater samples.
