Abstract
The invention relates to the building industry, particularly to loose-fill thermal insulation materials which are produced by processing biomass, including lignocellulose, and its residues. A thermal insulation material obtained from birch cut-offs, grey alder chips and hemp shives, and a method for production thereof is offered. The method includes the following steps: 1) pretreatment of lignocellulosic material by auto-hydrolysis with saturated steam in a sealed reactor under elevated pressure and temperature; 2) termination of auto-hydrolysis by steam explosion. Fibrous loose-fill material with a thermal conductivity of 0.043 W/(m*K) is obtained by the above-mentioned method. The obtained material can be loose-filled in building structures.
