Abstract
The invention is related to a cooler of bulk material with a cooler grate carrying material to be cooled, e.g., hot cement clinker, that conveys to be cooled material blown through by a cooling gas from an inlet of the material to its outlet. The performance, life time and efficiency of the cooler are increased, and the wear-out problem is reduced. In the cooler of the bulk material in accordance with the present invention, the cooler grate bearing hot to be cooled material is composed of a number of elongated, located adjacently to each other, extended in longitudinal direction of the cooler basic elements, which can be moved controllably, at least partly independently from each other, between the front position of the stroke in the transport direction of the material, and the rear position of the stroke, so that the material to be cooled is conveyed through the cooler step by step in accordance with the Walking-Floor-Conveyor principle. The cooler grate is permeable to cooling air, which flows from the lower side to the upper side through the cooler grate and the loaded on it bulk material layer, i.e. the basic elements serve simultaneously for conveying the bulk material and for blowing the air through the cooler grate. Separate basic elements have, in their cross-section, an upper part, which is carrying to be cooled material and is cooling gas permeable from the lower side to the upper side. Located distantly from it closed lower part prevents the material to be cooled from falling through the grate. To provide for permeability of the upper part of basic elements to the cooling gas, some kind of perforation can be arranged in the carrying material upper parts of the basic elements. In lower parts of all basic elements there is a number of cooling gas inlet apertures distributed throughout the length of the basic elements arranged for blowing the air on the basic elements and at the same time on the cooler grate. Drive of the basic elements for their movement from the front position of the stroke and to the rear position of the stroke is performed from lower side of the cooler grate. To decrease the wear-out between upper surfaces of upper parts of the carrying the material basic elements, transversally to a direction of material conveying the oriented cross-ribs can be fixed to those upper parts, in order to keep the lower layer of material and prevent its movement in relation to the basic elements, i.e., while in operation, the movement takes place only between the kept fast lower layer and lying on it layer of the bulk material.
