Abstract

The device offered for conversion of reciprocating motion into rotary motion consists of a driving disk mounted instead of connecting rod traditionally used for transmitting force between the piston and the crankshaft. Such solution allows increasing the stroke of piston and lessening the total weight of unit. Both alternatives of employment of invention are characterized in that construction of internal combustion engine does not comprise the connecting rods. The first alternative of two-stroke engine (fig.1E) is a two-cylinder engine having one crankshaft (5) and one disk (1) for conversion of reciprocating motion, which is mounted inside of piston (3) and cylinder (4). The second alternative (fig.2) is engine having two crankshafts and two disks for conversion of reciprocating motion. Assembly of crankshafts together with the said disks is placed inside of an engine case the crankshafts being directed in vertical plane under condition of bilateral symmetry. One set of pistons (3) is located onto both disks of motion converter so that load is distributed uniformly on both crankshafts. Both suggested alternatives can be used also for production of four-stroke engines and Diesel engines having small modular dimensions and increased power.

Description

Abas piedāvātās alternatīvas var izmantot arī neliela izmēra un paaugstinātas jaudas četrtaktu dzinēju un dīzeļdzinēju izgatavošanai.MOVEMENT AND ITS APPLICATION TO INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES @ Summary: The proposed device (Fig.1) for converting a straight-line reciprocating motion into a rotary motion, consisting of a drive disk mounted in place of an internal combustion engine crank, increases the stroke of the piston and reduces the overall weight of the unit. There are also two alternatives to using the device, both of which are characterized by the absence of cranks in the design of internal combustion engines. In the first version of the engine (Fig. 1E), the two-stroke engine comprises one crankshaft (5) and a single reciprocating conversion disc (1) formed inside the piston (3) and the cylinder (4). In the second version of the engine design (Fig. 2), two crankshafts and two rear-wheel drive discs are used. The crankshafts complete with these discs are located in a vertical plane parallel to each other and in mirror symmetry in the motor housing. A single piston assembly (3) is located on both motion conversion discs so that the load on both crankshafts is distributed evenly. Both of these alternatives can also be used for small and high-powered four-stroke and diesel engines.
