Abstract
The apparatus for charging the hearth (2) of a rotating hearth furnace with at least two separate layers of finely granular materials includes at least two supply hoppers (221-225) for such materials, with each of the hoppers provided with an outlet opening (341-345) and an associated delivery edge (361-365). These delivery edges are vertically offset relative to one another, and terminate the respective inclined delivery surfaces (38) which support the material columns in the hoppers (221-225).
