The subject of the present invention is an advertising medium and, more particularly, a light advertising medium.

Currently, advertising panels are most often arranged vertically, either against existing walls or on special supports. This traditional display process harms the quality of the environment, especially in cities. One can also doubt its effectiveness, in particular for vertical panels placed at a great height which are hardly seen by pedestrians.

" The present invention aims to provide another advertising system, which does not include the aforementioned drawbacks.

To this end, it relates to an advertising medium consisting essentially of a substantially horizontal-gay box, closed at its upper part by a transparent plate, designed to receive an advertising poster, and comprising lighting means capable of illuminating the poster below, said box being placed in an opening of a sidewalk or other substantially horizontal surface traversed by pedestrians, so that the upper face of its plate txaisparente 3e located auras of said surface.

This advertising medium intended in particular for small, medium or large cities, has a structure inspired by certain known light advertising devices, but its upper transparent plate must be very - resistant and non-scratchable, in order to withstand the weight. pedestrians walking on it, and the wear and tear caused by the passage of many people. The system of horizontal advertising, and at the level of the ground thus created, does not constitute an attack on the urban environment, and it turns out to be efficient, a pedestrian. * -3: in front usually walking, looking at about 10 meters / him. This system has the advantage of constituting a decorative element for sidewalks, generally gray and sad, and thus contributing positively to the embellishment of cities. The lighting means, such as by fluorescent tubes, make the poster visible at night so that the advertising is permanent.

Of course, special effects can be created, if desired, by combining several similar supports arranged for example every 15 meters along a sidewalk, and producing a kind of luminous mosaic, or by providing intermittent lighting. The installation of these advertising media is obviously not limited to the pavements, it can also be envisaged for squares, streets reserved for post offices, underground passages and, more generally, all public places. Obviously, the advertising system according to the present invention can be designed not only as having to replace, entirely kill the traditional display, but also as a complement to the traditional display.

In any case, the invention will be clearly understood with the aid of the description which follows, with reference to the appended diagrammatic drawing representing, by way of nonlimiting example, an embodiment of this advertising medium.

Figure 1 is a plan view from above, showing two possible arrangements of an advertising medium according to the invention;

The advertising medium according to the invention is presented as a horizontal box Jl of rectangular shape, for example 3 m in length and 1.5 m in width, with a thickness of * 1 ^ 0.20 to 0.25 m . This JL box is placed in an opening of corresponding shape _2 formed in a sidewalk 3., the longitudinal or transverse sides of said box being parallel to the edge of the sidewalk (see FIG. 1).

As shown in Figure 2, the box receives an advertising poster J> arranged horizontally, and placed under a glass plate jS of great thickness, able to withstand the weight of several people, and possibly the weight of an automobile which would parked on the sidewalk 3The upper face of the glass plate j) is flush with the surface of the sidewalk 3 ,, so that the device does not create any obstacle and no discontinuity on this sidewalk. As is obvious, and as already follows from the above, the invention is not limited to the only embodiment of this advertising medium which has been described above, by way of example; on the contrary, it embraces all of the variant embodiments. Thus, in particular, one would not depart from the spirit of the invention by modifications of dimensions or shapes of the box, by the choice of means other than fluorescent tubes for lighting the poster ”or by adding additional provisions, for utility or decorative purposes, such as a frame surrounding the upper glass plate.
