Title: Vehicle bag
Applicant : Ludwig Lindermayer
Disclosure
[0001] The present disclosure refers to a vehicle bag. More precisely, the present disclosure refers to a bag designed to be attached to a vehicle.
[0002] On camping vehicles (highly specialized expedition vehicles to recreational camping vehicles) it is a common problem to transport goods that are inconvenient to transport inside the vehicle (e.g. firewood, waste). It is desirable to have easy access to the transported goods. However, outside the vehicle, for example when passing by suitable firewood it is desirable to easily pick it up and carry it along without bringing dirt into the vehicle or e.g. inconveniently placing the firewood/waste on a roof rack.
[0003] The present application has the objective to provide a vehicle bag that is convenient to handle.
[0004] A vehicle bag according to the appended independent claims can provide a solution to the above objective.
[0005] According to an aspect of the present disclosure a vehicle bag comprises a first side, a second side opposite to the first side. The first side comprises at least one first attachment and the second side comprises at least one second attachment.
The first side comprises at least one laminar reinforcement and wherein the first side is designed and adapted to be in contact with a vehicle the vehicle bag can be at- tached to by means of the at least one first attachment. The vehicle bag has an in- side meant to transport goods and an outside. The first side may be directly connect- ed to the second side or via intermediate parts or material.
[0006] The laminar reinforcement reinforces the first side at least partially. In other words, the laminar reinforcement reinforces laminary the material the first side is made of. The laminar reinforcement may be at least one additional layer of material. 9062 a (flexible) plate made from a suitable material such as plastic, wood or metal or any other laminar reinforcement (e.g. suitable fabric) suitable and adapted to reinforce the first side at least partially. The laminar reinforcement can be located on the inside of the vehicle bag or the outside. The laminar reinforcement can also be placed be- tween to layers of material (e.g. fabric). The laminar reinforcement can be detachable and exchangeable.
[0007] The at least one first attachment can be any suitable attachment like a loop, a strap that can also be adjustable in length, a rail, at least one hook or an attach- ment assembly where a part of the assembly is designed and adapted to be mounted to a vehicle and remain there and another part of the attachment assembly is at- tached to the first side.
[0008] According to another aspect of the present disclosure a vehicle bag further comprises a pouch located on the second side. This may have the advantage that said pouch can be used to e.g. transport waste.
[0009] According to another aspect of the present disclosure the at least one first attachment is designed and adapted to carry the weight of the loaded vehicle bag.
This may have the advantage that the vehicle bag can be attached to the vehicle by means of the first attachment even when it is loaded. Further, the vehicle bag can be placed on the ground, loaded and then lifted from the ground to an attached position on the vehicle by means of the first attachment.
[0010] According to another aspect of the present disclosure a vehicle bag further comprises a tool attachment. This may have the advantage that dirty tools can be attached to the vehicle bag and they are ready to use. In case the vehicle bag is used for fire wood collection such tool(s) can be an axe, a machete, a saw, etc.
[0011] According to another aspect of the present disclosure the vehicle bag is clos- able such that the first side and the second side are connectable. This can be achieved by e.g. the vehicle bag further comprising a top side being located between the first side and the second side and comprising at least a closing device (e.g. Due 109092 tons, a zipper, Velcro, etc.). The first side and the second side can also be attached to each other without a part being located between the first side and the second side.
This can be also achieved by at least a closing device (e.g. buttons, a zipper, Velcro, etc.). Also, the second attachment can be used to close the vehicle bag.
[0012] According to another aspect of the present disclosure the vehicle bag further comprises at least one opening in a bottom side of the vehicle bag. This may have the advantage that dirt and/or liquid that accumulates in the bag can escape.
[0013] According to another aspect of the present disclosure a vehicle bag compris- es a valve located at the at least one opening. The valve is designed and adapted to block liquid from entering into the vehicle bag from outside the vehicle bag. This has the advantage that if the at least one opening is submerged e.g. while passing a ford, no liquid can enter the vehicle bag.
[0014] According to another aspect of the present disclosure the laminar reinforce- ment of an vehicle bag is designed and adapted to be in contact with a vehicle the vehicle bag can be attached to. This may have the advantage that the vehicle bag is protected from damage that could occur by the contact to the vehicle the vehicle bag can be attached to. For example the vehicle bag can be attached to a bull bar that might also include a winch. If the vehicle rides over rough terrain with the vehicle bag attached the relative movement between the vehicle bag and the vehicle can cause damage to the vehicle bag due to e.g. rubbing. The laminar reinforcement can pre- vent the vehicle bag from damage.
[0015] According to another aspect of the present disclosure the vehicle bag further comprises at least one third attachment located in a bottom area of the vehicle bag.
This may have the advantage that the vehicle bag can be additionally attached to a vehicle and consequently e.g. limit swaying and increase stability. The third attach- ment may be detachable and re-locatable on the vehicle bag.
[0016] According to another aspect of the present disclosure the pouch located on the second side of the vehicle bag is at least partially transparent. This may have the
LU À advantage that a licence plate can be inserted to said pouch if the vehicle bag is at” 103032 tached to a vehicle in an area where a licence plate is attached to the vehicle and would be covered by the vehicle bag.
[0017] According to an aspect of the present disclosure a vehicle bag comprises a shell having a first end. Said first end comprises at least one first attachment de- signed and adapted to be attached to a vehicle. The shell further comprises a second end, wherein the second end can be rolled up towards the first end and the resulting roll is attachable to at least one of the first end, the first attachment or is designed and adapted to be attached to a vehicle. This may have the advantage that goods (e.g. pieces of wood) can be placed on the shell and the rolled up with the shell and the roll then can be attached in order to keep the goods within the rolled up shell (roll). In other words, the vehicle bag works in the sense of known tool rolls.
[0018] The at least one first attachment can be any suitable attachment like a loop, a strap that can also be adjustable in length, a rail, at least one hook or an attach- ment assembly where a part of the assembly is designed and adapted to be mounted to a vehicle and remain there and another part of the attachment assembly is at- tached to the first side.
[0019] According to another aspect of the present disclosure a vehicle bag further comprises a laminar reinforcement attached to the shell in the area of the first end.
Said laminar reinforcement may be flexible to facilitate the rolling of the shell. This may have the advantage that the shell is protected from damage in the area of the first end where the vehicle bag most likely will be in contact with a vehicle the vehicle bag can be attached to. All the above features regarding the laminar reinforcement can be applied here as well.
[0020] According to another aspect of the present disclosure a vehicle bag further comprises at least one second attachment. In a state where the second end is rolled up towards the first end, the at least one second attachment can be used to attach the roll to at least one of the first end, the first attachment or is designed and adapted to be attached to a vehicle.
[0021] According to another aspect of the present disclosure a vehicle bag further comprises at least one third attachment located between the first end and the second end. In a state where the second end is rolled up, the at least one third attachment can additionally be attached to a vehicle and consequently e.g. limit swaying and in- crease stability. The third attachment may be detachable and re-locatable on the ve- hicle bag.
[0022] According to another aspect of the present disclosure at least one of the first side , the second side or the shell of a vehicle bag is at least partially made from ma- terial permeable to air. This may have the advantage that a flow of air to the cooler of the vehicle the vehicle bag is attached to can be maintained. Also, dirt on wood in the vehicle bag can fall off and to the ground without gathering in the vehicle bag.
[0023] According to another aspect of the present disclosure the loaded vehicle bag can be lifted from the ground by means of the at least one first attachment. This may have the advantage that if the loaded bag has to be detached from or attached to a vehicle this can be done using the at least one first attachment. The vehicle bag in its attached position on a car will be above ground such that the vehicle it is attached to can freely move. In order to bring it from the ground to said attached position the ve- hicle bag needs to be lifted up.
[0024] Each of the above aspects is to be considered an invention on its own. The aspects may be freely combined with each other and each feature not described as being dependent on another feature may also be freely combined with each other. brief description of the figures
[0025] Further advantages and features of the present disclosure will be apparent from the appended figure. The figures are of merely informing purpose and not of limiting character. The figures schematically describe embodiments of the present application. Hence, the appended figures cannot be considered limiting for e.g. the dimensions of the present disclosure.

Also, the directional terms / position indicating terms chosen in this description like up, upper, down, lower downwards, lateral, sideward are referring to the directly described figure and may correspondingly be applied to the new position after a change in position or another depicted position in another figure. All figures are not to scale and no indication of proportions should be taken. detailed description of the embodiments
[0029] Initially reference is made to fig. 1 in which a vehicle bag 10 is schematically depicted. The vehicle bag 10 is attached to a bull bar 81 of a vehicle 80 (only partially shown) standing on even ground. The vehicle bag 10 is depicted in an attached posi- tion. This means the vehicle bag 10 is clear from the ground and the vehicle 80 can move. The vehicle bag 10 comprises a first side 11 that is located closer to the vehi- cle 80 as an opposite second side 12. The first side 11 and the second side 12 are attached via side parts 21.However, the side parts 21 are optional and the first side 11 can directly be connected to the second side 12. The vehicle bag 10 comprises a bottom (not shown) that is attached to the first side 11, the second side 12 and the side parts 21 such that a bag with an hollow interior and an open top is formed. The bottom (not shown) comprises multiple (at least one) openings 17 that each comprise valves 18 (opening and valves not shown). The openings 17 and the valves 18 allow e.g. water to escape from the inside of the vehicle bag 10. However, the valves 18 block water to enter into the vehicle bag 10 if e.g. the vehicle 80 passes a water crossing and the openings 17 are submerged.
[0030] The vehicle bag 10 is attached to the bull bar 81 by means of two first at- tachments 13. The first attachments 13 are designed such that they can support the weight of the loaded vehicle bag 10 in the depicted position (attached position). In that way the interior of the vehicle bag 10 is easily accessible while the vehicle bag is attached to the vehicle 80. Further, the first attachments 13 are designed such that the loaded vehicle bag 10 can be lifted from the ground to the attached position at the vehicle 80. 10 [0031] The first side 11 comprises a laminar reinforcement 15. It is shown in dashed lines as it is attached to the first side 11 facing the vehicle 80. The laminar reinforce- ment 15 may be a flat member that is resistant to wear as the weight of the loaded vehicle bag 10 will push the first side 11 against the front of the vehicle 80 and in this case the bull bar 81 and/or the front bumper. Said parts of a vehicle might have sharp edges that damage the vehicle bag 10 (for example a winch in the bumper/bull bar) as the vehicle bag 10 will move with respect to the vehicle while driving and e.g. rub against the front of the vehicle 80. The laminar reinforcement 15 protects the first side 11 from being damaged. The laminar reinforcement 15 may also be in multiple parts that may or may not have a movable connection between each other. The lam- inar reinforcement 15 may be any suitable material, also wear resistant fabric such as fabric containing aramid fibres.
[0032] The vehicle bag 10 further comprises two second attachments 14 located on the second side 12. In this embodiment, the vehicle bag 10 can be closed by attach- ing the second attachments 14 to either the first side (including the first attachments 13) or the vehicle 80. Also, the vehicle bag can have a closable top side (not shown).
The second attachments 14 can help to distribute the dynamic loads that are gener- ated if the vehicle 80 moves with a loaded vehicle bag 10 attached.
[0033] The vehicle bag 10 further comprises two third attachments 19 located on the side parts 21 (only one visible in fig. 1). The third attachments 19 are located in a bot- tom area B of the vehicle bag 10 and designed to be attached to the vehicle 80. Their exact positioning can be dependent on the actual dimensions of the vehicle bag 10, however, their purpose is to prevent the bottom area B to swing e.g. in driving direc-
tion and thus away from the vehicle 80 when driving in rough terrain or braking, as) (05032 the first attachments 13 can act as hinge points. The third attachments may be de- tachable and re-locatable on the vehicle bag 10 such that they can be placed best dependent on the actual shape of the vehicle bag 10. This can be achieved by e.g. multiple fixing points for the third attachments 19 on the vehicle bag 10. The third at- tachments 19 increase the stability of the attached vehicle bag 10. If the first side 11 is directly attached to the second side 12 without the side parts 21, the third attach- ment(s) 19 can be located on the first side 11, the second side 12 or in between them (e.g. attached to a seam between the first and the second sides).
[0034] The vehicle bag 10 further comprises a pouch 20 located on the second side 12. The pouch 20 can at least partially be made from transparent material such that a number plate can be inserted and is visible. The pouch 20 can be detachable e.g. by means of Velcro or snap fasteners. The pouch 20 can also have the dimensions that garbage bags can be fitted inside the pouch 20. Garbage bags could be transported in the inside of the vehicle bag 10 together with e.g. firewood, however, the firewood could poke holes in them. A tool attachment 30 is located on the side part 21. Here, the tool attachment is schematically depicted as a loop, however, each form of tool attachment is suitable. A tool such as an axe and/or a saw can be fixed to the vehicle bag 10 by means of the tool attachment 30. The tool attachment 30 may comprise a fixation such that the respective tool cannot fall out of the tool attachment 30.
[0035] Fig. 2 depicts another embodiment of the present application. Here, a vehicle bag 10 is attached to the bull bar 81 at the front of a vehicle 80 (only partially shown) standing on even ground, as described above. The vehicle bag 10 in fig. 2 comprises a shell 50 having a first end 51 and an opposite second end 52. The first end 51 comprises two first attachments 13. The shell 50 further comprises a laminar rein- forcement 15 in an area that can come in contact with the front of the vehicle 80 the vehicle bag 10 is attached to. The laminar reinforcement 15 is also depicted in dashed lines as it is oriented towards the vehicle 80 an thus not directly visible in the perspective of fig. 2.
[0036] The vehicle bag 10 of depicted in fig. 2 is not depicted in the attached posi- tion (contrary to fig.1). The vehicle bag 10 works as follows. Wood 40 or material to
LU be transported is placed on the outspread shell 50 as depicted in fig. 2. Subsequently 999% the second end 52 is rolled up towards the vehicle 80 and the resulting roll is then either fixed to the first attachments 13, to the first end 51 or directly to the vehicle 80.
This can be done with second attachments 14 that extend along the shell 50. In the depicted embodiment, the second attachments 14 are connected with the first at- tachments 13, however, not with the second end 52. In that way the second attach- ments 14 can be used to help with the rolling of the shell 50 and with the lifting into the attached position as well as the fixation of the rolled shell 50 to the first attach- ments 13, the first end 51 or the vehicle 80. The second attachments 14 can help in the rolling in the sense of a roller apron or Japanese style blind where the blind is rolled on the free hanging end. The first attachments 13 are also designed to support the weight of the loaded vehicle bag 10 such that the vehicle bag 10 can be lowered to the ground in the rolled state. In this case it is advisable that the second attach- ments 14 attach to the first attachments 13 and/or the first side 51.
[0037] The vehicle bag 10 further comprises two third attachments 19 that are locat- ed between the first end 51 and the second end 52. Their position is dependent on the dimension of the rolled vehicle bag 10. The third attachments 19 may also be de- tachable and variably re-locatable on the shell 50 such that they can be located based on the dimensions of the rolled vehicle bag 10. This can be achieved by e.g. multiple fixing points for the third attachments 19 on the shell 50. The vehicle bag 10 may also comprise a pouch 20. The pouch may be at least partially transparent and detachable (see above) in order to place it at different positions on the shell 50.
[0038] In both embodiments the vehicle bags 10 can at least partially be made from material permeable to air. If the vehicle bag 10 is attached to the front of a vehicle it might restrict the flow of air to the cooler of the vehicle, as can be seen in both fig- ures. A vehicle bag 10 at least partially made from material permeable to air will im- prove the flow of air to the front of the vehicle 80. The vehicle bag may comprise fur- ther reinforcements such as belts that e.g. loadbearingly connect the first attach- ment(s) with the second attachment(s). This connection can be around the outside of the vehicle bag such that the weight of the material in the bag is not only supported by the material of the first side, second side and the bottom but also by said rein-
TO forcements. In other words said reinforcements can form a loop between the first at” 103032 tachment(s) and the second attachment(s). The laminar reinforcement(s) 15 can be fixed detachably to the vehicle bags 10 in order to facilitate replacement in case of wear or loss. The vehicle bags 10 can further comprise pouches or attachments to e.g. attach belts of the first, second or third attachments to prevent them from hang- ing and getting caught while driving. The vehicle bag 10 can also be attached to any other suitable part of vehicle (e.g. in the back to a spare tire holder, a bicycle holder, a motorcycle holder or other structural parts of a vehicle), the bull bar 81 is purely exemplary. All attachments (first, second and third) can be any suitable attachments and comprise belts, Velcro, buckles, ratchets, pulleys, snatch pulleys, etc.
