Abstract

Ferritic or austenitic steel with a high chromium content, containing at least 30% carbide in optimum ratio. A carbide-rich region with a thickness of at least 20 μm is used as its surface layer. The friction coupling is thus less prone to wear/adhesive wear on its friction surfaces.
