Abstract

본 발명의 공중 무선통신기 통신시스템은 공중 무선통신기가 지상기지 셀룰러 무선전화기 시스템과 통신이 가능토록 한다. 또한, 본 발명은 지상기지 시스템이 공중 무선전화기의 위치를 추적하는 것을 가능케 하고 지상기지 전화시스템으로부터의 호가 수신될 때 그 위치를 페이징(paging)하는 것을 가능케 한다. 지상 기지국은 공중 셀들을 형성하는 상방방사 안테나에 접속된다. 무선통신기를 가진 항공기가 공중 셀들을 비행함에 따라 공중 중계기는 기지국으로부터의 신호를 수신하고, 그들을 무선통신기로 중계한다. 만약, 무선통신기가 신호를 송신하고 있으면, 중계기는 그들 신호를 공중 셀들을 통해 기지국으로 송신한다. 항공기가 셀들간을 이동함에 따라, 무선통신기는 지상과의 통신을 유지하기 위하여 다음 셀로 절체된다.

Claims (5)

  1. 지상기지 서브시스템과 공중기지 서브시스템을 갖는 공중 통신시스템에 있어서, 상기 공중기지 서브시스템내에 있는, 무선신호를 송신하고 수신하는 공중 무선통신기, 상기 공중 무선통신기로부터의 무선신호를 상기 지상기지 서브시스템으로 중계하고, 상기 지상기지 서브시스템으로부터의 무선신호를 상기 공중 무선통신기로 중계하는 공중 무선 중계기, 및 무선신호를 송신하고 수신하는 적어도 하나 이상의 상방방사 안테나를 갖고, 공중 교환전화망(PSTN)에서 발생하는 신호를 송신하고 중계된 무선신호를 수신하는 PSTN 에 접속된 지상기지 서브시스템 기지국을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 공중 통신시스템.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 중계기가 상기 공중 무선통신기를 상기 기지국에 등록하는 성능을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 공중 통신시스템.
  3. 지상기지 부호분할다중접속 (CDMA) 무선전화기 서브시스템과 공중기지 서브시스템을 갖는 공중 통신시스템에 있어서, 상기 공중기지 서브시스템내에 있는, CDMA신호를 송신하고 수신하는 공중 무선전화기, 상기 무선전화기를 상기 지상기지 CDMA 무선전화기 서브시스템에 등록하고, 상기 공중 무선전화기로부터의 CDMA 무선신호를 상기 지상기지 서브시스템으로 중계하고, 상기 지상기지 서브시스템으로부터의 CDMA무선신호를 공중 무선전화기로 중계하는 공중 기지국, 및 상기 무선신호를 송신하고 수신하기 위한 복수개의 상방방사 안테나를 갖고, 공중교환전화망 (PSTN) 에 접속되며, 상기 지상기지 CDMA 서브시스템내에서, PSTN발신 신호를 송신하고, 중계된 CDMA 무선신호를 수신하는 CDMA 기지국을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 공중 통신시스템.
  4. 제 3 항에 있어서, 상기 복수개의 상방으로 방사하는 안테나는 지상 수준에서의 CDMA무선신호의 방사를 실질적으로 배제하는 것을 특징으로 하는 공중 통신시스템.
  5. 부호분할다중접속 (CDMA) 무선전화기 신호를 송신하고 수신하는 성능을 갖는 공중 무선전화기, 공중교환전화망 (PSTN)에 접속되며, 수신된 CDMA무선전화기 신호를 상기 PSTN에 접속하고 공중 무선전화기로의 송신을 위해 상기 PSTN 신호를 CDMA무선전화기 신호로 변환하는 복수개의 기지국, 및 각각이 상기 복수개의 기지국중 첫 번째에 접속되어, 상기 CDMA 무선전화기 신호를 수신하고 방사하며, 지상 높이에서의 CDMA 무선전화기 신호의 방사를 실질적으로 배제하는, 복수개의 상방방사 안테나를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 공중 무선전화기 시스템.
