Abstract
본 발명은 GA에서 제안된 6가지의 HD영상포맷과 SD영상포맷 및 디지탈 NTSC영상포맷을 720×1280순차주사포맷이나 1080×1920비월주사 포맷으로 변환하는 영상포맷 변환장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다.The present invention relates to an image format conversion apparatus and method for converting the six HD image formats, the SD image format, and the digital NTSC image format proposed in the GA into the 720 × 1280 progressive scan format or the 1080 × 1920 interlaced scan format.
본 발명은 종래의 포맷변환장치가 휘도와 컬러신호의 포맷변환처리를 달리함으로써 컬러신호의 포맷변환시 부가적인 하드웨어가 사용되며, 프레임 저장용 메모리가 많이 사용되던 점을 감안하여 휘도 및 컬러의 입력 영상 데이타를 출력 영상포맷에 맞춰 수직 및 수평 간축하여 메모리에 일시 저장하고, 상기 메모리에 저장된 데이타 출력시 인터레이싱 또는 디인터레이싱 및 레이트 변환을 행하여 출력하며, 상기 메모리의 출력 데이타를 수직 및 수평 보간하여 최종 출력 영상 포맷으로 출력함으로써 HD 및 SD 입력 영상을 HDTV에 쉽게 나타낼 수 있으며, 디지탈 NTSC신호도 HD영상으로 변환할 수 있게 된다. 그리고 간축수단과 보간수단 사이에 메모리를 사용하고 메모리 제어를 통해 인터레이싱이나 디인터레이싱 및 레이트 변환기능을 수행하므로써 ASIC구현이 용이토록 한 것이다.In view of the fact that additional hardware is used for format conversion of a color signal by using a conventional format conversion apparatus for converting brightness and color signal format conversion processing and a memory for storing frames is used in many cases, Interlacing or deinterlacing and rate conversion are performed for outputting the data stored in the memory, and the output data is vertically and horizontally interpolated to output the final output By outputting to the image format, HD and SD input image can be easily displayed on HDTV, and digital NTSC signal can be converted into HD image.
