Abstract

본 발명은 외부 입력 무신호시 PIP 동작 제어방법에 관한 것으로, 종래에는 PIP 기능을 갖는 텔레비젼 수상기를 이용하여 재생신호를 시청하게 되면 특정 채널의 방송신호를 텔레비젼 수상기의 주화면으로 시청하면서 외부에서 입력되는 재생신호를 부화면으로 시청할 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있으나, 외부에서 재생신호가 입력되지 않고 단지 부화면 채널이 외부입력으로 설정되어 있으면 부화면으로 노이즈만 출력되게 된다. 이에 따라 종래에는 외부에서 입력되는 신호가 없을 때에는 텔레비젼 수상기의 부화면과 부음성으로 출력되는 영상신호가 음성신호를 뮤트시켜 부화면으로 노이즈가 출력되는 것을 방지하고 있으나, 이때 부화면은 여전히 주화면의 일측에 디스플레이되어 주화면을 가지는 결점을 가지고 있었다. 본 발명은 PIP 동작모드를 수행하면서 부화면의 채널이 변경되는가를 감시하여 부화면의 채널이 외부 입력으로 절환되면 외부 입력에 동기신호가 포함되어 있는가를 판단하고, 상기 판단결과 동기신호가 있으면 외부입력을 부화면으로 출력하고 동기신호가 포함되어 있지 않으면 PIP 기능을 해제하고 방송신호만을 주화면으로 출력하면서 동기신호가 있는가를 다시 확인하여 동기신호가 검출되면 PIP 기능을 동작시켜 외부 입력을 부화면으로 출력함으로서, 외부에서 입력되는 재생신호가 없을때 부화면이 주화면을 가지는 것을 방지할 수 있는 효과가 있다.The present invention relates to a method of controlling a PIP operation during no signal input, and in the related art, when a playback signal is watched using a television receiver having a PIP function, an external signal is input while watching a broadcast signal of a specific channel on the main screen of the television receiver.
