격벽에 의해 구분된 복수개의 연소실간의 가스 발생제의 연소 속도를 알맞게 조정하여, 만족할 만한 에어백의 팽창 특성을 얻을 수 있는 에어백용 인프레이터를 구성한다. 하우징(1)의 내부를 복수개의 연소실(6a-6c)로 구분하고, 점화기에 의해 제1연소실(6a)의 가스 발생제가 발화하면, 이 연소 가스를 하우징에 설치된 분기공(3)을 통해 에어백 내로 분출시키는 한편, 상기 제1연소실의 가스 발생제의 화염으로 다른 연소실(6b.6c)의 가스 발생제도 발화시켜서 이 연소 가스도 다른 분기공을 통해 에어백 내로 분출되도록 하여 이루어지는 에어백용 인프레이터에 있어서, 상기 제1연소실의 중심과 점화용 화염 방사공(9)의 중심을 통과하는 직선을 y축으로 하고, 상기 y축에 직교하며 상기 제1연소실의 중심을 통과하는 직선을 x축이라고 했을 때, 상기 제1연소실의 중심에 대한 제3상한 및 제4상한의 부분에 상기 제1연소실로부터 다른 연소실로의 화염 방사용 연통공(10)을 설치하도록 한다.By adjusting the combustion speed of the gas generating agent between the several combustion chambers separated by the partition, the inflator for airbags which can obtain the expansion characteristic of an airbag satisfactory is comprised.
