Abstract

각막교정의 최소복귀를 일으키는 방식으로 각막을 국소적으로 가열하고 재형태화시키는 열-각막형성 시스템 및 방법. 본 시스템은 전원(14)에 연결된 프로브(12)를 포함하며, 전원(14)은 상피로부터 각막지질에 이르기까지의 각막내에 열프로파일을 만드는 지정된 전력, 주파수 및 지속시간을 제공할 수 있다. 프로브의 전기적 리턴은 눈꺼풀을 열린상태로 유지케하는 개안기(202)이다. 프로브(12)는 각막과 접촉하도록 놓여지고 에너지가 전원(14)으로부터 눈으로 전달되고 개안기(202)를 통하여 전원으로 되돌아간다. 전원으로부터의 에너지는 프로브팁(240)에 집중되며, 이것이 각막을 국소적으로 가열하고 변형시켜 후속적으로 각막 조직의 수축을 야기한다. 변성된 부위의 패턴이 각막 둘레에 만들어져서 눈의 시력을 교정할 수 있다.

Claims (24)

  1. 첫번째 전극; 상기 첫번째 전극에 연결된 전원; 그리고 상기 첫번째 전극에 대한 리턴경로를 제공해 주는 개안기로 이루어진 열각막형성 프로브시스템.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 개안기가 전선에 의해 상기 전원에 연결되는 것을 특징으로 하는 시스템.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 첫번째 전극이 베이스 부분으로부터 연장되고 베이스 부분보다 더 작은 외형치수를 갖는 첫번째 계단부를 갖는 팁을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 시스템.
  4. 제3항에 있어서, 상기 첫번째 전극이 돌출부를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 시스템.
  5. 제3항에 있어서, 상기 첫번째 계단부가 편평한 말단을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 시스템.
  6. 제3항에 있어서, 상기 첫번째 전극이 상기 첫번째 계단부로부터 연장되고 상기 첫번째 계단부의 외형치수보다 더 작은 외형치수를 갖는 두번째 계단부를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 시스템.

  9. 제7항에 있어서, 상기 두번째 전극이 내부유체통로를 갖는 외부슬리브로부터 상기 첫번째 전극을 분리하는 것을 특징으로 하는 시스템.
  10. 베이스 부분으로부터 연장된 베이스 부분의 외형치수 보다 더 작은 외형치수를 갖는 첫번째 계단부를 갖는 첫번째 전극으로 이루어진 열각막형성 프로브

  15. 제14항에 있어서, 내부유체통로를 갖는 슬리브가 부가되어 이루어진 것을 특징으로 하는 프로브.
  16. 절연물질의 층에 의하여 두번째 전극으로부터 분리되어 있는 첫번째 전극으로 이루어진 열각막형성 프로브.
  17. 제16항에 있어서, 내부유체통로를 갖는 슬피브가 부가되어 이루어진 것을 특징으로 하는 프로브.
  18. 제16항에 있어서, 상기 첫번째 전극이 상기 두번째 전극을 넘어서 연장되는 것을 특징으로 하는 프로브.
  19. 전원에 연결된 전극; 개방상태일때 전력이 상기 전극으로 공급되는 것을 방지하는, 상기 전극에 연결된 퓨즈; 그리고 전력이 상기 전극에 공급된 후 상기 퓨즈를 개방하는 전기회로로 이루어진, 전원에 연결되는 열각막형성 프로브.
  20. 제19항에 있어서, 다수의 퓨즈를 샘플링하여 얼마나 많은 퓨즈나 개방상태에 있는지를 결정하는 샘플유닛이 부가되어 이루어진 것을 특징으로 하는 프로브.
  21. a) 한쌍의 전극을 갖는 프로브를 각막과 접촉하도록 놓는 단계; b) 상기 전극을 하나에 전력을 인가하는 단계, 그리고 c) 다른 하나의 전극에 전력을 인가하는 단계로 이루어진, 각막을 변성시키는 방법.
