본 발명은 격자벡터양자화를 이용한 호환 부호기에 관한 것으로, 입력영상신호를 저장하는 제1 프레임 메모리(10)와; 상기 제1 프레임 메모리(10)의 영상신호를 서브샘플링하여 저해상도 영상신호로 만드는 서브샘플러(11); 상기 서브샘플러(11)의 저해상도 영상신호를 저장하는 제2 프레임 메모리(12); 상기 제2 프레임 메모리(12)의 저해상도 영상신호를 TS 벡터양자화하여 출력하는 TS 벡터양자호 부호기(13); 상기 TS 벡터양자화 부호기(13)의 부호화된 영상시퀀스를 입력한 후 TS VQ 복호하여 저해상도의 영상신호로 재생하는 TS VQ 복호기(14); 상기 재생된 저해상도 영상신호를 보간(interpolation)하여 확대하는 보간기(15); 상기 제1 프레임 메모리(10)의 고해상도 영상데이타로부터 보간 및 재생된 영상신호를 감산하여 차 영상을 출력하는 감산기(16); 상기 감산기(16)의 차영상을 격자벡터양자화(LVQ)하여 출력하는 격자벡터양자화기(LVQ)로 구성되어 효율적으로 호환 부호화를 실행한다.The present invention relates to a compatible encoder using grid vector quantization, comprising: a first frame memory (10) for storing an input video signal; A subsampler 11 subsampling the video signal of the first frame memory 10 into a low resolution video signal; A second frame memory 12 for storing the low resolution video signal of the subsampler 11; A TS vector quantum coder (13) for quantizing and outputting a TS vector quantized low-resolution video signal of the second frame memory (12); A TS VQ decoder (14) which inputs the encoded video sequence of the TS vector quantizer coder (13) and then decodes the TS VQ to reproduce a low resolution video signal; An interpolator 15 for interpolating and expanding the reproduced low resolution video signal; A subtractor 16 for subtracting the interpolated and reproduced image signals from the high resolution image data of the first frame memory 10 and outputting a difference image; It consists of a lattice vector quantizer (LVQ) for outputting the difference image of the subtractor 16 by lattice vector quantization (LVQ) to efficiently perform compatible encoding.
