본 발명은 액정표시장치 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것으로서, 투명전극 패턴과 연결되어 외부단자와 접촉되는 접촉패드들의 사이에 스크라이브 라인을 통과하는 돌출부를 갖는 댐 패턴을 형성하여 상기 접촉패드들을 서로 연결하여 투명전극 패턴들이 등전위가 되도록 하여 제조 공정 특히 러빙 공정시 발생되는 정전기에 의한 스파크 발생을 방지하고, 후속 스크라이브 공정에서 상기 돌출부를 제거하여 상기 접촉패드들을 독립시켰으므로, 정전기 방전에 의한 스파크가 일어나지 않도록 하여 투명전극 패턴의 단선 및 불량 발생을 방지하고 댐패턴이 차지하는 면적이 매우 작아 하나의 액정기판에 형성되는 단위셀의 숫자에 영향을 미치지 않아 공정수율 및 소자동작의 신뢰성을 향상시킬 수 있다.The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device and a method of manufacturing the same, wherein a dam pattern having a protrusion passing through a scribe line is formed between contact pads connected to a transparent electrode pattern to contact an external terminal to connect the contact pads to each other.
