영상을 효과적으로 분할하기 위하여 수행하는 전처리 과정에서 스트롱 에지가 포함된 블럭에 대해서만 나가오 필터링하는 영상신호의 영역분할 방법이 개시되는 바, 이는 입력되는 영상신호를 소정개의 서브 블럭으로 분할하는 제1스텝과. 상기 제1스텝에서 분할된 서브 블럭에 4방향 미분 연산자를 적용하여 스트롱 에지를 찾는 제2스텝과, 상기 제2스텝에서 찾은 스트롱 에지와 미리 설정된 소정 값 이상의 스트롱 에지를 비교하는 제3스텝과, 상기 제2스텝에서 찾은 스트롱 에지와 소정 값 이상의 스트롱 에지보다 크거나 같다고 판별되면 그 스트롱 에지와 포함된 블럭에 대해 나가오 필터링을 수행하고, 작다고 판별되면 그 블럭에 대해서는 나가오 필터링을 수행하지 않는 제4스텝으로 이루어짐으로써, 영상의 에지를 선명화시키고 영상의 상세한 부분도 살린다.In the pre-processing process for effectively dividing an image, a method of region division of an image signal for filtering out only a block including a strong edge is disclosed, which includes a first step of dividing an input image signal into predetermined sub-blocks; .
