Abstract

The apparatus includes an A/D converter(14) for digitalizing an analog image signal outputted from an image sensor(10) into image data in the scale range according to the reference voltage; a controller for outputting data of the initially determined reference voltage, sequentially storing the image data in an inner memory and detecting the maximum value among the data stored in the memory to generate middle tone reference level data corresponding to the middle tone processing reference voltage; and a reference voltage supplying unit for converting the middle tone reference level data into an analog signal to supply it to the A/D converter as the reference voltage.
