a sensing part with a temperature sensor for sensing the temperature of a air intake pipe; an idling sensor for sensing an engine's idling state; an engine rotating number sensor for sensing the rotating number of the engine; a throttle valve opening sensor; a coolant temperature sensor; an engine controller connected to the sensing part for sensing the temperature of the air intake pipe when an EGR valve operates and detecting an exhaust gas recirculation system's condition by determining a temperature difference of the air intake pipe according to the operation of the EGR valve; and an exhaust gas recirculation system operating according to a control signal from the engine controller.
