Abstract

The preparation method for betalaine (I) from cell culture of sugarbeet (II) callus consist of (1) enriching (II) at 14-18 hours at light and 6-9 hours at dark and 23-27 deg. C for 25-30 days on the medium containing 1-naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) 1-10 ppm, 6-benzylaminopurine (6-BA) 0.01-2.0 ppm, casamino acid 300-800 microgram per liter and adenine sulfate 50-300 microgram per liter, and (2) transfering (II) into the medium of tyrosine 10-30 microgram per liter, NAA 0.01-1.0 ppm, 6-BA 0.01-1.0 ppm, sucrose 60-150 gram per liter and culturing for 6-10 days at the same temperature to produce (I). At (2) condition, the concentration of auxin must be more than cytokinin.
