Abstract

The branch connector 2 has a base member 6 having a cover member 8 for accommodating the conductive wire 4 and a receiving chamber 28 for accommodating the cover member 8. The base member 6 has a branch connector 10 with a number of side by side IDC contact portions 18, which branch connector 10 is in-mold to the insulating housing 12. The receiving chamber 28 also has a wire holding means, which is a V-shaped slot 42 with a tapered profile 44 to provide an acute edge that is pressed against the wire 4.
