Abstract

A process and device for spinning and cooling synthetic, multi-strand, spin-oriented continuous filaments with a spinning device with nozzle plates containing spinning heads and cooling shafts with permeable walls through which a stream of air is inducted inside the cooling shaft purely through the frictional transport of the air by the filaments. The stream of air is continuously taken in directly beneath the spinning heads and then over the entire length of the cooling shafts at filament speeds of the least 2400 m/min.
