Abstract

본 발명은 포름알데히드의 카르보닐화 반응에 의하여 글리콜산을 제조하는 방법 및 그의 유도체인 글리콜산 에스테르를 제조하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 방법에서는 수용성 불활성 용매중에서 고분자 강산 촉매를 이용하여 포름알데히드와 일산화탄소를 반응시켜 글리콜산을 제조하며, 또한, 전술한 반응계내에서 포름알데히드와 일산화탄소를 반응시킨 다음 알코올과 함께 에스테르화 반응을 행하여 글리콜산 에스테르를 제조한다. 따라서, 본 발명에서는 포름알데히드 제조시 정제가 어려운 물 및 임의의 미반응 메탄올을 함유하는 비정제 포름알데히드를 초기 반응물로써 사용할 수 있으며, 용매로서 반응에 직접 참여하지 않는 불활성 용매를 사용함으로서 활성 용매 사용시 수반되는 부산물 생성등의 문제점을 배제할 수 있다.The present invention relates to a method for producing glycolic acid by a carbonylation reaction of formaldehyde and a method for producing glycolic acid esters thereof.
