본 발명은 액정표시소자(LCD;LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY)중에서도 스테틱(STATIC)구동을 시키는 2셋(SET)의 LCD를 이용하여 매트릭스 표시가 가능하도록 구성된 액정표시소자에 관한 것으로서, 상부기판 상에 X축 전극이 형성되고 이와 대향된 하부기판 상에 전면전극이 형성된 X축 구동용 LCD와, 상부기판 상에 전면전극이 형성되고 이와 대향된 하부기판 상에 Y축 전극이 형성된 Y축 구동용 LCD와, 상기 X축 구동용 LCD와 Y축 구동용 LCD의 외측(상측,하측) 및 그 사이에 편광판을 부착 시키므로써 X축 Y축 구동용 LCD 각각은 스테틱으로 구동시키면서도 매트릭스 표시가 가능하게 되어 종래 멀티 플렉싱(MULTIPLEXING) 구동에서 발생될 수 있었던 문제점, 예컨데 듀티(DUTY)수 제한, 전압상승, 응답속도 지연 및 표시품질 저하 등을 개선할 수 있는 액정표시소자를 실현할수 있다.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1.
