Abstract
본 발명의 시스템의 초기화시에 시스템에 접속되어 있는 각각의 장치들로부터 부팅시키는 방법에 관한 것으로서, 특히 위크스테이션용 에이사(EISA : Extended Industrial System Architecture)버스방식을 채택하고 있는 장치에서 시스템에 설정되어 있는 초기화구성에 관계없이 시스템의 에이사버스에 접속되어 있는 각 장치로부터 부팅(booting)시킬 수 있는 부팅방법에 관한 것으로 시스템을 트리거이벤트(trigger event)등의 수행에 의하여 초기화되어 각각의 부팅장치로부터 시스템 메모리로 오퍼레이팅 시스템을 로딩하는 부팅방법에 있어서, 상기 시스템의 초기화시에 장착된 카드가 부팅가능한가의 여부를 판단하는 제1단계; 상기 카드가 부팅가능한 카드인 경우 상기 시스템내에 컨피규레이션이 이루어져 있는 가를 판단하는 제2단계; 상기 제2단계에서 상기 시스템내에 컨피큐레이션 데이타가 기록되어 있지않는 경우에 상기 카드의 컨피규레이션 데이타에 억세스하여 해당 데이타를 시스템내의 메모리에 저장하는 제3단계; 상기 카드에 디폴트상태로 내장되어 있는 초기화명령 및 입출력수행명령을 수행하여 상기 카드의 초기화를 실행하는 제4단계; 및 상기 제3단계에서 억세스된 컨피규레이션 데이타에 따라 오퍼레이팅 시스템의 커널의 초기화코드에 의한 초기화를 실행하는 제5단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.The present invention relates to a method of booting from each device connected to the system at the time of initialization of the system, and particularly to the system in a device employing the Extended Industrial System Architecture (EISA) bus method for the WickStation.
