본 발명은 영상신호 기록시 최적의 기록전류를 공급해 주기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여 자기테이프기록재생시스템에 있어서 픽업수단과 입력원으로부터 인가되는 영상신호를 기록 및 픽업수단에서 재생되는 신호를 재생하기 위한 영상신호 처리수단과 영상신호 처리수단에서 출력되는 신호 또는 픽업수단으로부터 재생되는 신호를 증폭하기 위한 증폭수단을 구비한 기록전류 자동설정장치에 있어서, 영상신호 처리수단에서 출력되는 기록전류가 최적의 값을 갖도록 가변적인 전류증록율로서 조정하여 증폭수단으로 출력하기 위한 기록전류 조정수단과, 전류증폭율에 의해 조정되어 기록된 신호가 재생모드 제어에 의해 증폭수단을 통해 출력되는 신호의 피크포락선을 검출하기 위한 포락선 검출수단과, 포락선 검출수단에서 검출된 가변적인 전류증폭율로서 조정된 복수의 기록신호에 대한 피크포락선값을 비교하여 가장 최적의 기록전류를 공급할 수 있도록 피크포락선에 해당하는 전류증폭율로 조정하도록 기록전류 조정수단의 동작을 제어하기 위한 제어부를 포함하도록 구성된다. 따라서 인가되는 영상신호를 자기테이프의 종류에 따라서 자기테이프가 포화되지 않는 한도내의 최대전류로 기록매체에 기록함으로써 재생화질을 개선한 이점이 있다.The present invention is to provide an optimum recording current when recording a video signal.
