The leather treating agent compsn comprises 10-70 wt. pts. of polyoxy ethylenealkyl phenol type nonionic surfactant; and 10-50 wt. pts. of polyoxy ethylene alcohol type nonionic surfactant; and 20-80 wt. pts. of hydrophobic solvent. The polyoxy ethylenealkyl phenol type cpd. is prepared by adding 5-15 mole of ethylene oxide to C6-12 alkyl. The polyoxy ethylenealcohol is prepd. by adding 5-15 mole of ethylene oxide to C6-18 alcohol. The hydrophobic solvent is selected from C1-12 alcohol, 1,1,1-trichloroethane, trichloroethylene or white paraffin oil. The obtd. compsn has good fat-removing property.
