본 고안은 액상 연료탱크의 유면 표시구조에 관한 것으로, 특히 유색의 반사판을 이용하여 유면의 위치를 더욱 선명하게 나타내도록 한 것이다.
연료탱크의 유면 표시구조는 연료를 주입할 때 또는 사용중에 연료의 유면을 확인하여, 주입시에는 연료공급 중단시점, 사용중에는 연료의 공급시점을 파악할 수 있도록 하는 것이다.
종래에 있어서 연료탱크의 유면 표시구조는 제4도에 도시한 바와 같이 연료탱크(10) 일측면에 노출공(11)을 형성하고 그 위에 밀폐부재(20)로 지지되는 투명체(30)를 설치하여 투명체(30) 위에 표시공(41)을 형성한 덮개(40)를 결합하여서 되는 것등이 사용되어 왔다.
우리가 눈으로 물체를 본다는 것은 물체에 반사한 빛이 눈으로 들어와 수정체를 통하여 망막에 물체의 영상을 나타내는 것이므로 많은 빛이 투과될수록 많은 빛이 반사되어 선명하게 된다.
상기의 종래의 구조에서는 빛의 투과량을 증대시키기 위해 투명체(30)의 전면을 삼각으로 요입하여 투과면을 증대시킨 특징이 있지만 연료탱크(10) 내부에 투명한 연료-이를테면 백등유등-가 주입되어 연료를 통하여 표시판을 투시할 때나 연료를 통하지 않고 표시판을 투시할 때나 표시판이 거의 변함없이 보이기 때문에 유면 표시가 잘 되지 않는 문제점이 있었다. 또한 연료가 투명체(30)를 넘어서 채워진 경우 연료탱크(10) 내부에 연료가 있는지 없는지 구별할 수 없는 문제등도 있었다.
본 고안은 상기 종래의 제결함을 감안하여 이를 해결하고자 하는 것이며, 따라서 그 목적은 연료를 통하여 투시되는 표시판과 연료를 통하지 않고 공기를 통하여 투시되는 표시판의 굵기를 현저하게 하여 유면을 보다 선명하게 나타낼 수 있게한 연료탱크의 유면 표시구조를 제공하는 것이다.
본 고안은 상기 목적을 달성하기 이하여 후방이 삼각으로 돌출형성된 투명체에 일정거리를 두고 표시판을 설치하는 것을 특징으로 하며, 이하 본 고안을 첨부도면에 도시한 한 실시예를 통하여 더욱 자세히 설명하면 다음과 같다.
즉, 연료탱크(10)의 일측면에 노출공(11)을 형성하고 그 위에 밀폐부재(20)로 지지되는 투명체(30)를 설치하여 투명체(30) 위에 투시공(41)을 형성한 덮개(40)를 결합하여서 되는 통상의 것에 있어서, 투시부(31)와 플랜지(32)로 구성되는 상기 투명체(30)의 투시부(31) 전방은 반구형으로 돌출 형성하고 연료(50)와 접하는 후방은 삼각으로 돌출 형성하여 플랜지(32) 후면 상하방에 고정돌기(34)를 형성한 스페이서(33)를 형성하여 이에 고정공(61)을 형성한 유색의 표시판(60)을 설치하여서 되는 것이다.
상기와 같이 구성된 본 고안의 작용 및 효과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다.
유면이 덮개(40)의 투시공(41) 아래에 위치하면 투시부(31)의 전방을 투과한 빛은 표시판(60)을 통해 반사되나 투시부(31) 후방이 삼각으로 돌출형성되어 있기 때문에 전반사 현상이 일어난다. 즉 입사각이 크므로 투명체(30)을 통과하지 못하고 삼각면에서 반사되어 버린다. 따라서 전반사가 되지 않는 부분인 삼각의 꼭지부에서만 투시부(31) 외부로 빛이 반사되어 돌아오기 때문에 관찰자의 눈에는 길고 가는 수직의 유색선만이 보이게 된다.
한편, 유면이 덮개(40)의 투시공(41) 상하단 사이에 위치하게 되면, 즉 투명체(30)의 투시부(31) 후방과 표시판(60) 사이에 연료(50)가 채워지게 되면 투시부(31)의 전방을 투과한 빛은 표시판(60)에 반사되어 투시부(31) 외부로 돌아오게 되어 표시판(60)의 유색을 모두 표현하게 되므로 유면의 위치를 육안으로 쉽게 식별할 수 있게 된다. 이는 투시부(31) 후방과 표시판(60) 사이에 연료(50)라는 매질(媒質)이 생김으로써 전반사현상이 일어나지 않는 것을 의미한다. 즉 표시판(60)에서 반사된 빛이 연료(50)을 통과하는 순간 굴절되어 투시부(31) 후방의 삼각면을 통과하는 입사각이 작아지게 되므로 전반사현상을 일어나지 않는다.
상기에서 덮개(40)의 표시공(41) 상단까지 연료(50)가 채워지게 되면 투명체(30)의 투시부(31)는 반사판(60)의 색상을 모두 나타내게 되는 것은 물론이다.
이상에서와 같이 본 고안은 유면의 위치를 유색으로 나타냄으로써 이를 식별하기가 극히 용이하며 따라서 연료의 주입량, 잔류량 등을 확실하게 파악할 수 있는 유용한 고안인 것이다.

  1. 연료탱크(10)의 일측면에 노출공(11)을 형성하고 그 위에 밀폐부재(20)와 투명체(30)를 설치한 다음 이에 투시공(41)이 구비된 덮개(40)를 체결하여서 된 통상의 것에 있어서, 상기 투명체(30)는 전방은 반구형으로 돌출형성되고 후방은 삼각형으로 돌출형성된 투시부(31)와, 상기 투시부(31) 주변에 판상으로 형성된 플랜지(32)와, 상기 플랜지(32)의 후면 상,하에 돌출형성된 스페이서(33)와로 일체 성형되고, 상기 스페이서(33)에는 유색표시판(60)이 조립구성됨을 특징으로 한 액상 연료탱크의 유면 표시구조.
