본 고안은 곡물을 저장하는 곳간 바닥에 송풍닥트를 장치하여 곳간에 저장된 곡물을 강제 건조시키는 곡물 건조장치에 관한 것이다. 지금까지는 수확된 물벼를 베어 그대로 논 바닥에 방치하여 수분함량이 16-18%될 때까지 건조한 다음 이를 탈곡하여 다시 이 탈곡된 벼를 옥외의 편편한 곳에 옮겨 수분함량이 약 13-15%(의기 습도)도게 2차 건조하고 이렇게 건조된 곡물은 다시 거두어 저장고에 옮기는등 여러번의 작업을 하여야 하였으며 이러는 과정에서 곡알의 오손 유실등의 폐단이 있었고 특히 우기일 경우 곡알의 수확에 상당한 감량을 감수하였다. 이러한 폐단을 시정하기 위하여 일정한 실내 장소에서 곡알을 강제 건조하는 장치가 외국에서 개발된 것이 있었으나 이 장치는 대단히 복잡하여 국내 농촌 실정에는 적합하지 않았다.
