슬라이드 파스너의 체인은 길이가 길게 제조한후 일반의 수요에 따른 칫수로 절단하여 한조(組)의 적당한 길이의 슬라이드 파스너로 만든 것으로서 파스너 테이프의 절단 양단부의 실밥이 취급중에 점차 풀어지게 되므로 종래의 것은 이것을 방지하기 위하여 파스너 테이프의 절단 단부 전체에 걸쳐서 필름을 점착하거나 수지액(樹脂液)을 도포하여서 테이프 조직을 굳히는 수단이 사용되었다. 따라서 이러한 가공에 의하여 단부가 몹시 경화하기 때문에, 속옷에 장착된 경우 등에서는 파스너 사용중에 경직한 이 부분이 직접 살에 닿으면 매우 불쾌감을 느끼게 되고 때로는 통증을 주는 등의 결점이 있었다.Since the chain of the slide fastener is manufactured with a long length, it is made of a set of slide fasteners of a suitable length by cutting with the dimensions according to general demand.
