Loofah is a cucurbitaceae plant that is native to tropical Asia. In English, it is called ‘Sponge-gourd’ because the inside of the loofah is like a sponge, and in Chinese characters it is called ‘Apple’ because it has many threads. The genus name Lufa is the Arabic name for luffa cucumber (Luffa), and the specific epithet cylindrica is derived from the cylindrical shape of cylindricus, which comes from the shape of the luffa cucumber. It is presumed that it came to Korea through China, and its date is believed to be in the early 1900s. In Korea, sponge cultivation was carried out in Sangju, Goryeong, Uiseong, and Mungyeong in Gyeongbuk, Gongju and Seosan in South Chungcheong Province, and Gangwon-do. Ingredients and Use It is said that in the early 1970s, Japan imported a large amount of the sap obtained from cutting loofah cucumber stems to use it as a raw material for making beauty water (a lotion that moisturizes the skin and refines the skin surface). In fact, women in the countryside would plant loofah on the fence, and in midsummer, they would cut off the bottom of the stem, put the stem in a bottle, collect the sap from the scrub brush, and apply it to their faces. When used as a lotion, it smoothes the skin and is also good when applied to heat rashes.
100g of sap contains 5 kcal of energy, 98.1% moisture, 0.8 g protein, 0.7 g carbohydrate, 0.4 g ash, 2 mg calcium, 32 mg phosphorus, 0.2 mg iron, 3 mg sodium, 26 mg potassium, 0.07 mg vitamin B1, 0.08 mg vitamin B2, niacin. Contains 0.9mg and about 3mg of vitamin C. In addition, it contains sodium nitrate, saponin that does not dissolve well in water, a large amount of mucilage, and cyturulline, which is widely found in cucurbit plants.

Niacinamide is a type of niacin, a member of the vitamin B group, and is a water-soluble vitamin B3, also known as nicotinamide. This niacinamide, along with ceramide, was confirmed to have the effect of simultaneously promoting the synthesis of cholesterol and fatty acids necessary for the formation of lamellar structures, thereby reducing water loss in the epidermis and improving lipid content. Niacinamide is essential for our bodies and is also contained in foods such as green vegetables and cereals. The need for niacinamide for healthy skin has been recognized since the early 20th century. When there is a lack of vitamin B3 in the diet, pellagra, an infectious disease that causes serious skin lesions, has emerged, and niacinamide has been known as a vitamin that prevents this. Niacinamide is known to have a whitening effect on the skin by inhibiting the movement of melanosomes from melanocytes to keratinocytes.

The adhesive force is too strong and the skin is damaged when removed, or the adhesive is not applied uniformly, so it is attached in a wrinkled state during the attachment process, leaving fine wrinkles on the skin in that wrinkled state after use.
A panel of 30 professional women aged 25 to 45 years old, targeting competitor product A along with the sunscreen patch manufactured in Example 1 and Comparative Example 1 described above, was divided into two groups and each group was given patches under the eyes with appropriate adjustments. After application, the feeling of use was evaluated according to the following evaluation criteria, including adhesion upon attachment, persistence of attachment, stickiness when detaching, refreshing sensation during the attachment period, whether fine wrinkles were formed on the skin after use, and overall satisfaction, and the results are shown in Table 5 below. Each item was evaluated with a score ranging from 1 to 5.
As described above, the sunscreen patch additionally containing loofah cucumber stem sap according to the present invention was most satisfactory in terms of ease of use, and further received a high score in terms of improvement effect after use.
