Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a water-soluble catechin complex and a composition for preventing or treating atopic diseases comprising the same.
Atopic dermatitis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that occurs mostly in infancy or childhood, repeats improvement and exacerbation, and is accompanied by rash and severe itching caused by external irritants.
(JS Kang et al., Inhibition of atopic dermatitis by topical application of silymarin in NC/Nga mice. Intl Immunopharm. (2008) 8. 1475-1480).Recently, the occurrence of atopic dermatitis is rapidly increasing due to environmental pollution caused by industrialization and urbanization. Although the etiology of atopic dermatitis is not yet known for certain, pathological factors such as a functional deficiency caused by a hyperactive reaction according to the increase of IgE antibody or by disorganized differentiation of T lymphocytes caused by a decrease in cell-mediated immune function have been revealed. It is currently considered a disease in which immunological abnormalities are involved. In addition, exogenous atopic dermatitis, which accounts for most of atopic dermatitis, is caused by an immune mechanism related to IgE, and it is reported that a delayed immune response caused by T cell abnormality rather than an immediate immune response to a specific allergen is involved. Also, recently, it has been reported that Th2-related cytokines such as Il-4, which induce the production of IgE from B cells, are the cause of atopy. (JS Kang et al., Inhibition of atopic dermatitis by topical application of silymarin in NC/Nga mice. Intl Immunopharm. (2008) 8. 1475-1480).
On the other hand, for the treatment and management of atopic dermatitis, it is common to prescribe a moisturizing agent that maintains moisture on the skin surface and a steroid hormone, that is, a topical corticosteroid preparation for improving the inflammatory response.
However, in the case of topical corticosteroids, there is a problem that causes various skin side effects, such as skin atrophy, vasodilation, loss of pigment, and generation of dilated striatum, making it difficult to use for a long period of time. Therefore, the development of atopic therapeutics or auxiliary substances using natural new drug candidates with anti-atopic efficacy and very low side effects is underway in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic fields.
Free radicals generated in the body are also raised as one of the main causes of atopic dermatitis. This is because it is known that free radicals generated in the body not only cause aging by preventing cell regeneration, but also damage the cell signal transduction system or lower immunity.
Flavonoids that can be extracted from nature are known not only to have antioxidant properties that prevent oxidation in the body, but also to improve immune function in the body by inhibiting free radicals or discharging them out of the body.
Since these flavonoids are non-toxic and have harmless properties to the human body, using flavonoids, hydrogel for wound dressing (Korea Patent Publication No. 2015-0042363), tooth whitening patch (Korea Patent Publication No. 2006-0081533), Various pharmaceutical technologies have been developed, such as a skin care treatment for whitening or UV protection (Korean Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2016-0089514) and an external application for promoting hair growth or hair growth (Korean Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2004-0062379).
Among the flavonoid-based substances, catechin is the most abundant component in green tea, and it is known as an excellent substance for preventing aging by emitting active oxygen and having a strong antioxidant action.
