Description

DRUG INJECTOR FOR TREATING DEMENTIA}DRUG INJECTOR FOR TREATING DEMENTIA

The present invention relates to a drug injection device for the treatment of dementia, and more particularly, to a drug injection device for the treatment of dementia capable of simplifying and miniaturizing a structure for treating small and medium animals suffering from Alzheimer's disease.

Alzheimer's dementia is caused by various etiological mechanisms, and in particular, beta amyloid protein accumulated in the brain induces neurotoxicity and induces neuronal cell death, which eventually destroys the brain and reduces all mental activity. Not only humans but also animals are rapidly increasing the number of people with this disease, but many animals suffer because there is no underlying treatment. Therefore, in recent years, non-clinical and clinical studies have been actively conducted to treat Alzheimer's disease using various stem cells derived from the human body.

However, the biggest barrier to the development of treatments for Alzheimer's disease using stem cells is the administration route. Drugs targeted at the brain must pass through the blood-brain barrier (BBB). In the case of stem cells, they must be effectively delivered to the brain to function. If the transfer efficiency of stem cells is the highest priority, direct transplantation of stem cells through brain surgery is the best method, but there is a risk that patients need to undergo neurosurgery surgery and there is a practical limitation when repeated administration is required.
