Abstract

The dental handpiece includes a head portion and a turning portion. The head portion includes a turbine and a light guide arranged to direct the light beam from the head portion to a location proximate the turbine. The pivot portion includes a light emitting diode arranged to direct a light beam into the light guide and a detachable battery for supplying power to the light emitting diode.

Dental Handpiece

The present invention relates to a dental handpiece. More particularly, the present invention relates to a dental handpiece comprising a light emitting diode.

This application claims priority of U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62 / 120,685, filed February 25, 2015, which is incorporated herein by reference.

The dental handpiece includes a head portion and a turning portion. The head portion includes a turbine and a light guide arranged to direct the light beam from the head portion to a location proximate the turbine. The pivot portion includes a light emitting diode arranged to direct a light beam into the light guide and a detachable battery for supplying power to the light emitting diode.
