Abstract
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention [0001] The present invention relates to a mold and a method for vacuum forming a substrate, and more particularly, to a vacuum forming mold and a method capable of multi-blend molding without leaving a vacuum hole mark on the surface.
A substrate, for example, a glass substrate, is generally manufactured to have a desired 3D shape by using vacuum, pressure, pressing, rolling, and the like.
1 and 2 are views schematically showing a conventional vacuum forming method for a substrate.
As shown in Fig. 1, a
The molding method will be described. First, the substrate S is placed on the upper side of the
However, in the conventional molding method, it is inevitable that a hole shape is transferred to the lower surface Sl of the substrate S to generate marks. The portion of the substrate S that is adsorbed to the
Further, in the conventional method, molding of a multi-blend is impossible.
In addition, the 3D cover glass having a curvature or having a bend in more than one side is currently formed by using various methods, but the quality problem of appearance and shape after molding has not been solved.
In the conventional method, it is impossible to realize the shape of a large curvature and the detailed reproduction of the dimensions of the product. These problems can not meet the diversification of design in the future.
In addition, due to the size, quantity, and the like of the
It is an object of the present invention to provide a mold having no vacuum suction hole in a product area.
Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to enable removal of molding hole marks caused on the substrate (during hot forming).
Further, it is an object of the present invention to enable a curvature and a multi-blend shape to be implemented without difficulty in a substrate.
It is also an object of the present invention to provide a substrate forming mold capable of providing a uniform surface state on a substrate.
According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a mold for vacuum molding a substrate, the mold including a cavity and a vacuum inlet formed to communicate with the cavity, wherein the vacuum inlet is formed on a sidewall of the cavity Wherein the vacuum suction port is located on a side surface of the molded substrate when the substrate is placed in the cavity, the air in the cavity on the lower side of the substrate being sucked through the sidewall surface To provide a substrate vacuum forming mold.
Further, according to the present invention, a substrate is placed on a substrate vacuum forming mold including a cavity and a vacuum inlet formed on a sidewall of the cavity and sucked through the vacuum inlet, Wherein the vacuum inlets are located on the side surfaces of the molded substrate when the molding is completed.
The suction hole formed in a direction perpendicular to the substrate during vacuum forming is switched in a horizontal direction with respect to the substrate to realize a 3D shape. Thus, it is possible to provide a mold having no vacuum suction hole in the product area.
Therefore, it is not necessary to process a large number of holes and slots in the production of a mold, so that the manufacturing cost can be reduced.
In addition, it is possible to remove the hole mark on the surface of the product which occurs during the vacuum forming. That is, by applying a vacuum through the sidewall of the mold, no hole mark or slot mark is left on the surface of the substrate. Holes, slots, and the like are not left, so that the manufacturing cost can be reduced by eliminating post-processes such as polishing.
It also enables high temperature vacuum molding without causing display distortion.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
3 to 5 are views schematically showing a substrate
The
The
If necessary, air pressure may be applied to the upper surface Su of the substrate S to assist in forming the substrate S. The air pressure must be uniformly applied over the entire upper surface (Su) of the substrate (S). It is not preferable that a plurality of air injection holes (not shown) are provided in the chamber immediately above the substrate S so that the air pressure is locally applied to the portions of the upper surface Su of the substrate S corresponding to the air injection holes .
The
The
The
In this specification, terms related to the upper, lower, upper, lower, side, side, side, bottom, and sidewall surfaces, 205, , But does not indicate an absolute direction.
The
The
It is preferable that the
One or a plurality of
The substrate S is placed on the substrate
6 is a schematic view showing a substrate
In the first embodiment, the substrate S is formed so as to have a negative curvature as a whole along the first direction. In the second embodiment, the substrate S is formed so as to have a negative curvature at the start and end portions along the first direction, and a middle portion thereof to be flat. As described above, the present invention makes it possible to mold various types of substrates.
Figs. 7 and 8 are schematic diagrams of a vacuum forming method according to the conventional vacuum forming method (Figs. 7A and 8A) and the vacuum forming method of the present invention (Figs. 7B and 8B) Fig. 5 is a view showing a result of preparation quality of a formed substrate S; Fig.
The dimensional qualities of the molded substrates compared in Figures 7 and 8 all exhibited a contour of 0.02 mm.
Figure 7 shows the surface quality. As shown in the figure, vacuum hole marks are transferred and appear on the surface of the substrate S molded according to the conventional method. On the contrary, no vacuum hole mark appeared on the surface of the substrate S molded according to the present invention.
8 shows display distortion. The substrate S formed according to the conventional method is distorted on the effective surface due to surface curvature. On the contrary, the substrate S molded according to the present invention did not cause distortion on the effective surface.
Experimental Results As the data shows, it shows perfect product quality such as improving surface quality, eliminating distortion of display, and can reproduce the dimension perfectly.
In the present invention, disturbance factors such as holes on the surface of the
The gap of the
Accordingly, the method is suitable for molding a 3D shape of a cover glass of a flexible display wearable device or a mobile device, and can be applied to mass production of a molded substrate.
