Abstract

A brake device of a bicycle is disclosed. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the brake device of a bicycle comprises a brake arm and a brake shoe, wherein the brake shoe comprises a pad comprising a fragrance member to emit fragrance when the pad is worn out, thereby enabling a user to easily figure out a replacement period of the pad by emitting an order to the outside when the pad is worn out to a certain degree.

Description

Brake Device for Bicycle {Brake Device for Bicycle}

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention [0001] The present invention relates to a braking apparatus for a bicycle, and more particularly, to a braking apparatus for a bike capable of confirming the replacement timing of the brake pads with a smile.

Generally, bicycle brakes can be divided into rim brakes and disc brakes.

Rim brakes are applied to the principle of leverage. One braking arm is mounted on the bicycle frame using pivot bolts, and another brake arm is provided on the opposite side of the wheel's horizontal line.

Also, connect the wire from the brake lever installed on the bicycle handle to the brake, fix the end of the wire to the end of one brake arm, and install the U-tube on the other brake arm.

Accordingly, when the user pulls the brake lever, the brake arms on both sides are collected, and the rim of the bicycle wheel is braked with the brake pad of the rubber material attached to the brake arm on both sides by the principle of the lever.

On the other hand, a disc brake is disposed between a caliper (a device for braking and braking a disc) connected to a bike shaft (hub) and a pair of disc pads with a disc at the center in the caliper.

In the hydraulic type, there is an oil cylinder on the brake lever. When the brake lever is held by hand, hydraulic pressure is generated and transmitted to the caliper. The hydraulic pressure thus transmitted is transmitted to the inside of the caliper through the rubber or wear material The brakes are made by moving the brake pads of the brake pedal toward the disc.

As described above, since the conventional braking device brakes by utilizing the frictional force due to the contact between the rubber pad and the wheel, the pad is physically worn or damaged due to the contact, so the brake pad must be periodically replaced.

If you miss the replacement time, the braking force or braking distance will vary greatly depending on the wear of the pad, which can lead to unexpected accidents.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. The embodiments described below are provided by way of example so that those skilled in the art will be able to fully understand the spirit of the present invention. The present invention is not limited to the embodiments described below, but may be embodied in other forms. In order to clearly explain the present invention, parts not related to the description are omitted from the drawings, and the width, length, thickness, etc. of the components may be exaggerated for convenience. Like reference numerals designate like elements throughout the specification.

FIG. 1 is a view showing a bicycle in which a brake device according to an embodiment of the present invention is mounted, FIG. 2 is an enlarged perspective view of the brake device, and FIG. 3 is a front view of FIG.

Referring to the drawings, the brake device 10 according to the present embodiment may be installed in a front wheel (or a rear wheel).

Generally, the bicycle 1 is provided with a front fork 4 for mounting a front wheel 3 on a body frame 2, and a front wheel 3 is rotatably coupled to an end of the front fork 4. The front wheel 3 includes a wheel rim 3a and a tire 3b surrounding the wheel rim 3a. The front fork 4 is engaged with the handle 4b for steering the bicycle and is rotatably coupled to the body frame 2. [

The bicycle 1 is also provided with a saddle 5 and a pedal 6 on the body frame 2 and a rear wheel 8 on the rear fork 7 of the body frame. The rear wheel 8 is connected to the pedal 6 and the chain 9.

2 and 3, the brake device 10 includes a pair of brake arms 11 and 12 and brake shoes 21 and 22 provided on the pair of brake arms 11 and 12, . Since the pair of brake arms 11 and 12 and the brake shoes 21 and 22 have the same shape in a left-right symmetrical manner with respect to the front wheel 3, the arm positioned on the right- The brake arm and the brake shoe referred to as the arm 12 and the light brake shoe 22 and located on the opposite side are referred to as a left brake arm 11 and a brake shoe 21.

The brake arm 11 on the left (right side of the drawing) includes a left pivot 13 and a left mount 15 and likewise a light arm 12 on the left side includes a light pivot 14, Mount (16).

The pivots 13 and 14 are provided in the middle of the front fork 4 branched from the handle stem so that the front wheel 3 can be rotatably installed therebetween, for example, at a position opposed to the wheel rim 3b. The pivots 13 and 14 are mounted on the bicycle using pivot bolts (not shown), so that the braking arms 11 and 12 close to the front wheels 3 about the pivots 13 and 14 during braking.

The mounts 15 and 16 are installed so as to be bent at right angles from the brake arms 11 and 12 to face the front wheel 3. Though not shown in detail, the mounts 15 and 16 are provided with slits in the vertical direction, and the brake shoes 21 and 22 are mounted on the slits.

The pair of brake arms 11 and 12 and the brake shoe 21 and 22 provided as described above generate braking force by the wire W. Generally, when the wire W is pulled, the brake arms 11, 12 pivot about the pivots 13, 14 in their normal position spaced from the wheel rim 3a, so that the brake shoes 21, Is brought close to the wheel rim 3a so that the brake operation is performed mechanically.

4 is an enlarged view of the brake shoe 20 according to the present embodiment. Since the left brake shoe 21 and the light brake shoe 22 are provided in the same manner and are mounted only in the installation direction, the brake shoe 20 will be collectively described below.

Referring to the drawings, the brake shoe 20 includes a holder 23 and a pad 24, respectively.

The brake shoe holder 23 is supported on the mount 15 or 16. For example, a stud 23a is provided on the holder 23, and the stud 23a is fixed to the slits of the mounts 15 and 16 by using a washer and a shoe fixing bolt (not shown).

The pad 24 has a friction surface 25 that is spaced apart from the wheel rim 3a before the brake operation so that the friction surface 25 contacts the wheel rim 3a during braking to perform the braking operation.

The pad 24 is made of rubber or synthetic resin, and is separated into at least two layers. A first abrasion layer 24a is provided on the outer side of the pad and a second abrasion layer 24b is provided on the inner side of the first abrasion layer 24a. The first abrasion layer 24a and the second abrasion layer 24b may be made of the same material, such as rubber, and may be easily bonded together using an adhesive after molding.

The first abrasion layer 24a is provided with irregularities in the form of an obtuse mountain and a bony shape so that it quickly operates while effectively dissipating heat generated during braking and the second wear layer 24b is provided with a perfume member 26 .

The perfume member 26 uses a perfume capsule which contains the perfume particles therein since the perfume member 26 should be odorous only when it is worn without causing odor during normal use. The fragrance capsule is also referred to as a microcapsule. The fragrance liquid is filled in the inside, and the resin material surrounds the fragrance capsule, so that the fragrance liquid does not leak to the outside until an impact is applied to the outside. The perfume capsules are prepared in the form of mixed powder with rubber raw materials and can be molded and processed.

The braking device 10 according to the present embodiment uses the first abrasive layer 24a of the pad preferentially and then the second abrasive layer 24b consecutively after a long period of repeated use and the second abrasive layer 24b ), The user can easily recognize the replacement cycle of the pad due to the odor generated when the perfume capsule is blown. Since odors that can be used vary, various pads having a variety of fragrance at the time of manufacture can be easily selected and purchased according to the user's preference.

Here, the present embodiment exemplifies a general bicycle having a chain. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the present invention can be easily applied to an electric bicycle equipped with a braking device. In addition to the rim type braking device, It is needless to say that the present invention can be suitably modified and modified to be applied to a pad used for a brake apparatus.
