Description

Portable Case for a Musical instrument, with Automatic humidity controller} Portable Case for a Musical instrument, with Automatic humidity controller

Instrument Case, Humidity Controller

Since musical instruments such as violins are traditionally made of wood, humidity control is very important because they are sensitive to humidity. In particular, the Republic of Korea has a big change in the four seasons, so be careful to control the humidity.

When making musical instruments, the adhesive component is water-soluble, so the method of storing the instrument differs depending on the humidity level in dry winter and wet summer. The violin may vary slightly depending on the type, but the ideal humidity is usually 50% to 60%. Logs are more vulnerable to humidity than plywood, so they can continue to deform over time due to their own effects on temperature and humidity. The warping of trees is also the most deadly case. Some instruments are made with a stress method that has been dried for a long time, causing the tree to warp so much that it can no longer be twisted. If the tree is warped, adjusting the strings will not tune, and the sound itself may become unstable, the pitch may be unstable, and the buzzing may be severe. Therefore, there is a product that has a hygrometer on the violin case and adds water to control the humidity.

There are two types of humidity measuring devices, mechanical hygrometer and electrical hygrometer. Mechanical hygrometers are displayed on an analog scale using the principle that organic materials, proteins or plastics such as hair or plastic contract or expand at relative humidity. An electric hygrometer is digitized according to the relative humidity of a thin layer of lithium chloride (LiCl) or the electrical resistance of a semiconductor device. In addition, there are several humidity measuring devices that use a dew point or compare the temperature difference between dry bulbs and wet bulbs.

It is a device to keep the humidity in the instrument case such as a violin. Water is absorbed by water-absorbing plastic on one side to keep it in a gel state, and on the other side, the desiccant contains the valve. Open to control humidity. When the humidity is above a certain value by detecting the electrical signal by installing the electronic humidifier, the valves on the side of the water are closed and the valve on the desiccant part is opened. Can be kept constant. However, the use of this device with electronic circuits creates the inconvenience of having to continue to supply power, which requires a new way to operate the valve without using power.

Multiple layers of cellophane PET film (polyethylene terephthalat) with high hygroscopic expansion on the valve can be rolled up and closed to open and close the valves using tension that increases when the humidity increases and when the humidity decreases. It is possible to make a humidity maintaining device. In addition, in the case of hair, when the humidity increases, the hair expands about 13% or more and is widely used in the hair hygrometer. This hair can also be used to create a wet expansion and humidity control device.

Select materials whose wet expansion rate is much larger than the thermal expansion rate to determine how much they will increase or shrink with humidity, and process samples with different wet expansion rates to a certain size to obtain the minimum force to move the valve. In order to test the length and thickness, the PET film and hair were the most stable.

The present invention eliminates the inconvenience of having to replace the battery in order to use the existing electric automatic humidity control device. In addition, the present invention can be used in any environment that requires a semi-permanent, automatic humidity control device that does not require electricity supply, as well as a musical instrument case is possible for a wide range of applications.

The present invention constitutes an apparatus in which a valve or a hole is automatically opened and closed without an external electric supply. Figure 2 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the automatic humidity control device 1-2 of the present invention using the wet expansion properties of the hair (2-6) or PET.

Referring to the principle of operation of the present invention in more detail as follows. When the moisture in the instrument case increases, the hair wound around the hair reel (2-5) is expanded and the length is increased, and the spring (2-4) mounted on the opposite side is pulled out. At this time, the dehumidification control window (2-7) is moved to the opposite side to open the dehumidification window (2-10). When the dehumidification window (2-10) is opened, the dehumidifier (2-3) removes moisture in the instrument case (1-1). On the contrary, when the inside of the musical instrument case 1-1 is dried, the hair 2-6 wound on the hair reel 2-5 is contracted. At this time, the spring (2-11) attached to the hair reel pulls the dehumidification control window (2-7) toward the hair reel and the humidification window (2-9) is opened to open the instrument case (1-1). Will be moisturized.

Automatic humidity control device (1-2) of the present invention as described above may use the moisture of the dehumidifier (2-3) without supplying additional moisture.

Since there are many materials with enough weight to pull the hair enough to tension, the dehumidification control window (2-7) can be made of a material with the desired weight and hardness.

In addition, in the present invention, replacing the hair with PET can achieve the desired effect.
