Abstract
The present invention discloses a speed and movement direction detection device having a self test function of an elevator and an escalator. The detection device includes an incremental encoder that generates three pulses shifted by an (electrical) angle of 120 degrees. The speed signal generator receives the encoder signal and generates a pulse signal whose frequency is proportional to the frequency of the input signal. The encoder self test unit monitors the encoder status, detects an encoder error based on the encoder signal, and the direction detector generates a direction signal based on the encoder pulse. Even when the speed is zero, this detection device can be implemented. The fault-tolerant speed and direction of movement detection device provides higher reliability than the prior art and can be applied to a motion control system requiring a high level of safety and integrity.
Description
The present invention relates generally to the detection of speed and direction of movement in motion control systems (elevators, escalators, motor drives, etc.), and more particularly, by using electronic components, having self-test, error monitoring and diagnostic functions, TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to an improved speed and direction of movement detection device that is fault tolerant and highly reliable.
The present invention is an improvement over the prior art, and is a cost-effective solution compared to high-reliability speed and direction of movement detection.
In the case of motion control systems (elevators, escalators, motor drives), speed and direction of motion detection are typically incremental encoders that generate two shifted (90 degree electrical angles) pulses, as shown in FIG. Use incremental encoder (optical, magnetic, inductive, etc.). By measuring the frequency of a pulse, the rotation speed and running speed of a car or an escalator can be investigated. The moving direction can be detected using various techniques. One technique is to examine the state of signal B in the event generated by the falling edge of signal A (for example). In the case where signal B is
Invalid transitions between different encoder states are also shown in FIG. 1 and can be used for error detection. However, in an encoder using two pulses, when one of the sensors does not function, there is a problem that the moving direction cannot be detected already (two shifted signals are required to detect the moving direction. In the case of measuring speed, one signal is required). In addition, since there is no invalid state in the current state, there is a problem that error detection based on the current state is impossible. Only an invalid state transition exists and can be used for error detection.
In general, in motion control systems, the reliability of speed and direction of movement detection is an important challenge, especially in the elevator and escalator industry. In addition, in some countries, the current regulation associated with elevators permits the use of electronic overspeed governors. However, depending on the level of safety and integrity imposed, WO 2007123522 discloses "Rotary encoder with built-in." There is a need for a system having a self-test and monitoring function, which is initiated by an in-self test "and European patent EP 1186432" Pinter having fault tolerant encoder wheel. " Another technique is to use a system having two or more channels with a comparison function.
The reliability of speed and movement direction detection using an encoder having two shifted pulses (shown in FIG. 1) can be improved by examining a dual channel system having a comparison function (additional logic circuit) for detecting a system failure. A dual channel system that can be used for elevator use is disclosed by US Pat. No. 6,170,614, "Electronic overspeed governor for elevator." However, in such a system, it is necessary to mount two identical encoders on the same shaft, thereby significantly increasing the cost of the system. In addition, the correct positioning of the encoder must be ensured.
Therefore, the detection device proposed in the present invention overcomes this problem.
According to
The encoder has three sensors arranged equidistantly at an electrical angle of 120 degrees and an optical, magnetic or inductively asymmetrical disk mechanically connected to an elevator motor shaft, a governor shaft or a governor sheave, or an escalator motor shaft.
However, provided that the state and state transition associated with the encoder is the same as the state and state transition associated with the encoder using three pulses shifted by an (electrical) angle of 120 degrees, the shift between pulses is equal to the (electric) angle of 120 degrees. May be different. The states and state transitions for encoders with three sensors arranged equidistant at an electrical angle of 120 degrees are shown in FIGS. 3 and 4. The speed signal generator receives an encoder signal and generates a pulse signal, the frequency of the pulse signal being equal to the frequency of the input signal. The direction detector generates a direction signal based on the encoder pulses, the encoder self test unit monitors the encoder status and detects the encoder error based on the encoder signal.
The elevator or escalator control unit can receive speed signals, direction signals, and encoder self test signals, interface with the outside via input / output ports, and activate the safety system in case of encoder / sensor failure.
The encoder of the present invention generates eight encoder states based on three shifted signals, thereby generating six valid encoder states and two invalid encoder states. When the encoder self test section detects an invalid state from the current encoder state, it reports an encoder error to the elevator or escalator control unit. Based on the current state of the elevator / escalator, and the signal received through the input / output port, the control unit determines whether the elevator / escalator is in operation idle, the elevator is moved safely to the next floor, or the safety device is activated. Judge.
Since the self test is based on the current encoder state and does not need to know the previous state, the main advantage is that the encoder self test can be executed even at zero speed before the elevator or escalator moves.
The encoder also gives three shifted signals. Since only two shifted signals are required to detect the direction, fault velocity and moving direction detection can be detected.
According to a preferred
If the state and state transition associated with an encoder are equal to the state and state transition associated with an encoder using three pulses shifted by an (electrical) angle of 120 degrees, the shift between pulses is different from the (electric) angle of 120 degrees. can be different.
In the case where only one encoder signal does not function, the detection device reports a minor error and gives a valid direction and speed signal (in the case of one encoder signal failure, fault tolerance). If two or more signals do not function, a major error is reported. In this case, the direction information is not valid already, and if the two signals do not function, only the speed information is valid.
The main advantage of a fault-tolerant detection device is that in the case of a minor error (inability of one encoder signal) to provide valid speed and direction information, and before the system goes to a standstill, the motion control system may Allowing the task to continue or end (i.e., the elevator system moves safely to the next floor before it goes down due to encoder failure).

In order to facilitate error detection based on the current encoder state, a speed and direction detection device having a self-test function is described in further detail below.
2 is a block diagram of a speed and direction detection device having a self test function showing system components and interconnections. The
The encoder
The
Therefore, the

The transition from state S1 to S0, the transition from state S3 to S0, and the transition from state S5 to S0 are related to one signal failure. Transition from state S2 to S0, transition from state S4 to S0, and transition from state S6 to S0 are related to two simultaneous signal failures.
By way of example, the present invention assumes that the encoder sensor has a pnp output and is normally open (that pnp transistor switches its output high). In case of sensor failure, transistor failure or power failure, the output will go low and remain low. The same transition can be defined for a sensor normally closed with a pnp output, a sensor normally open with an npn output, or closed.

Referring to Fig. 8, there is shown a state machine description of the encoder error monitoring and
The frequency division ratio is specified by the signal 83 (P3) and the signal 84 (major error), and represents the output signal of the error monitoring and
FIG. 9 is a diagram showing a state machine description of the encoder error monitoring and
Therefore, the frequency division ratio selected by the signal 83 (P3) and the signal 84 (major error) (i.e., the division factor of the state transition table of FIG. 9) is 3 when there is no error, and the minor error (1 2 in the case of no signal) and 1 in the case of a major error (the two signals are not functioning).
The output signals 21 (speed), 41 (direction), 33 (minor error) and 84 (major error) generated by the fault-tolerant speed and movement direction detection device can be transmitted to the motion control unit.
The speed signal, encoder self test signal and direction signal are sent to the elevator or escalator control unit. Even when the speed is zero, the self-test can be performed by this detection device. In other words, before the elevator or the escalator moves, an encoder error (disturbance) can be detected, which is an advantage over the prior art.
The fault-tolerant speed and direction of movement detection device provides higher reliability than the prior art and can be applied to a motion control system which requires a high level of safety and integrity.
As described above, according to the first embodiment of the present invention, an encoder for outputting a pulse signal that repeats on / off at every 180 degree electric angle as three kinds of pulse signals shifted by 120 degree electric angle is provided. Thus, eight encoder states can be generated based on the three shifted pulse signals. In addition, these eight encoder states can be distinguished into six valid encoder states and two invalid encoder states (see FIGS. 3 and 4).
Therefore, the encoder self-test unit 30 (corresponding to the static error diagnosis unit) monitors the occurrence of two invalid encoder states (corresponding to the states of S0 and S7 in FIG. 4) based on the three shifted pulse signals. The encoder error state can be detected statically (see FIGS. 4 and 5).
In addition, the
In addition, the
As described above, according to
Therefore, the error monitoring unit and the diagnosis unit 80 (corresponding to the dynamic error diagnosis unit) dynamically monitor the transition state of the three pulse signals based on the current and past three times of data, thereby dynamically detecting the second encoder error state. Can be detected (see FIGS. 6, 8, 9). In addition, it is possible to specify which signal is causing an error among the three pulse signals. In addition, it is possible to distinguish and output a major encoder error signal in which an abnormality occurs with two or more pulse signals and a minor encoder error signal in which an abnormality occurs only by one pulse signal (see FIG. 9).
In addition, the
In addition, the
In addition, the speed
