Description

Brake pad electric wear sensor unit

The present invention relates to a brake pad sensor, and more particularly to a brake pad electric wear sensor unit that can be protected from contamination and high temperature.

In general, brake pads are wear consumables and should be replaced periodically.

When the brake pads are worn, metallic objects come into contact with the wheel disks to generate noise, so the driver detects the pads to be replaced, which is called a mechanical method.

Mechanical as described above does not determine the appropriate replacement time of the brake pads, there is a high risk of accidents.

In order to eliminate this risk, an electric system using a pad wear sensor that senses the wear level of the brake pad and converts it into an electrical signal is applied.

The electric system can provide a convenience for automatically informing the driver of a pad replacement time without any notice.

The electrical wear sensor as described above is installed in a state of being inserted into the pad and buried, and operates in a manner of generating an electric signal when the sensor portion approaches the wheel disk or the metal object according to the degree of wear of the pad.

However, the method of exposing the sensor according to the wear of the pad may cause contamination of friction material such as dust due to pad wear, and may be disadvantageous in durability since the sensor is directly exposed to high temperature due to braking.

Accordingly, the present invention has been invented in view of the above, and by determining the degree of wear of the pad by using the change of movement of the caliper according to the wear of the pad, the worn pad dust and foreign matters are prevented from entering, and the wheel disc or the metal object. It is an object of the present invention to provide an electric wear sensor unit that prevents sensor exposure to prevent direct high temperature exposure during braking.

In addition, the present invention is installed by inserting toward the guide rod constituting the caliper, there is no change in the caliper appearance according to the mounting, and by adding a separate component for sealing and heat insulation, electric parts that can realize a reduction in parts quantity and cost reduction It is an object to provide a wear sensor unit.

The present invention for achieving the above object, the brake pad electric wear sensor unit is a torque member formed on a pair of caliper body for moving the pads located on both sides of the wheel disk toward the wheel disk, and the guide rod punched on the torque member side It is installed using a guide rod inserted into the hole, characterized in that it comprises a sensor for informing the replacement time of the pad to the degree of retraction movement that the guide rod exits from the guide rod hole according to the pad wear.

The sensor is composed of a stopper sensor having a sensing end formed into an inner space, a metal pin that exits from the sensing end according to the degree of wear of the pad, and an electrical signal line leading to an indicator indicating when the pad is replaced.

The stopper sensor is inserted into the guide rod hole drilled toward the torque member, and the metal pin is installed at the end of the guide rod.

According to the present invention, since the pad wear sensor is not installed in the pad, there is an effect that all problems with the pad dust and foreign matter and durability degradation caused when directly exposed to the wheel disk or the metal object can be solved.

In addition, since the present invention is installed using the guide rod constituting the caliper, there is no change in the caliper design for the pad wear sensor, and there is no effect of implementing separate parts for sealing and insulation, thereby reducing the quantity of parts and reducing the cost.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION Hereinafter, exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. Since the exemplary embodiments of the present invention may be embodied in various different forms, one of ordinary skill in the art to which the present invention pertains may be described herein. It is not limited to the Example to make.

1 is a block diagram of a brake pad electric wear sensor unit according to the present invention. As shown, the present invention is equipped with an electrical wear sensor unit for detecting the degree of wear of the brake pad (P), and converts it to an electrical signal.

The electric wear sensor unit is not inserted into the pad P, and is installed toward the torque member 4 for moving the pair of caliper bodies, thereby preventing the worn pad dust and foreign matter from entering, especially wheel discs or metal objects. The sensor part is not directly exposed to the side, so it is not directly exposed to high temperature during braking.

Caliper (C) according to the invention is a pair of caliper body for moving the pad (P) located on both sides of the wheel disk toward the wheel disk, the torque member (4) formed on one of the caliper body of the pair of caliper body and It is composed of a guide rod (2) is fixed using a pin fixing end (5) formed in the other caliper body is inserted into the guide rod hole (4a) drilled in the torque member (4).

The caliper C as described above is generally a caliper type applied to the braking device.

The electric wear sensor unit according to the present embodiment is installed using the torque member 4 and the guide rod 2 in which the pair of caliper bodies are coupled, and in particular, is inserted into the guide rod hole 4a drilled into the torque member 4. By using the guide rod (2) that is not exposed to the outside, the wear state of the pad is sensed without external exposure and wheel disk side exposure.

To this end, the electrical wear sensor unit comprises a stopper sensor (1) having a sensing end (1a) to the inner space, and a metal pin (3) provided at the end of the guide rod (2).

Figure 2 (a), (b) is an electric wear sensor unit according to the embodiment shows a state in which the caliper is mounted, assembled.

As shown, a stopper sensor 1 is fitted into one of the guide rod holes 4a opened in the torque member 4 so as to be fitted into the guide rod holes 4a of the torque member 4. The metal pin 3 installed at the end of the guide rod 2 fixed to the fixed end 5 is inserted into the sensing end 1a of the plug sensor 1.

In the present embodiment, the plug sensor 1 generates an electrical signal at a position at which the metal pin 3 of the guide rod 2 is separated after being separated from the sensing end 1a, thereby informing the pad replacement timing due to pad wear.

To this end, an electrical signal line is connected to the plug sensor 1, and the electrical signal line is configured to be connected to a controller or an indicator.

Figure 3 (a) shows a cross-sectional state in which the electric wear sensor unit according to this embodiment is installed in a normal pad state.

As shown in the drawing, in the absence of pad P wear, the end of the metal pin 3 in the inner space of the guide rod hole 4a of the torque member 4 is connected to the sensing end 1a of the plug sensor 1. It has a deeply inserted position inward.

As described above, when the end portion of the metal pin 3 has a position deeply inserted into the sensing end 1a of the stopper sensor 1, the stopper sensor 1 does not generate an electrical signal and thus has a low pad (P). Means status.

However, the pad wear proceeds with repeated braking, which retracts the position of the caliper body, and this state also retracts the position of the guide rod 2 fixed to the caliper body.

Figure 3 (b) shows the operation state of the electric wear sensor unit according to the present embodiment when the pad replacement is required by the pad wear.

As shown, when the wear of the pad P proceeds to the extent that replacement is necessary, the position of the guide rod 2 also retracts to the maximum due to the movement of the caliper body.

When the metal pin 3 exits from the sensing end 1a of the stopper sensor 1 by the retraction movement of the guide rod 2 as described above, the stopper sensor 1 generates an electrical signal at the exiting position, It informs you when to replace the pad due to wear of the pad (P).

As described above, in the present embodiment, the electric wear sensor unit is not inserted into the pad P, but is installed by using the guide rod 2 toward the torque member 4 for moving the pair of caliper bodies. Foreign matters are prevented from entering and in particular, the sensor part is not directly exposed to the wheel disc or the metal object, so it is not directly exposed to high temperature during braking and thus does not degrade durability.
