The present invention relates to a wear visualization device of a pad for a caliper assembly, and more particularly, to a caliper assembly that allows the driver to visually know the degree of wear of the pad and the state of reaching the wear limit when the wear of the brake pad exceeds the limit. It relates to a wear visualization device for pads.

In general, a disc brake device is widely applied to a brake of an automobile, and the disc brake device is provided with a caliper assembly.

As shown in FIG. 3, the caliper assembly includes a carrier 51 having a brake pad 50 embedded therein and fixed to a knuckle (not shown), and a guide rod 52 connected to the carrier 51. The pad 50 is supported by the pad spring 54 so as to be movable and made of a caliper 53 provided with a piston (not shown).

In addition, the wear sensor 55 is installed on the side of the pad 50 to detect the wear of the pad 50, which is fixed to the back plate back surface of the pad 50 and the side of the pad 50. It is installed to protrude slightly.

The wear sensor 55 is installed to slightly protrude from the back plate to contact the brake disk when the friction material of the pad 50 is worn to inform the pad replacement time.

However, when the wear sensor is installed to be fixed to the back plate of the pad and slightly protrudes toward the friction material of the pad, when the friction material wears, the wear sensor contacts the disk to generate noise, thereby informing the pad replacement time. People who are insensitive to sound or hearing impaired may not know when to replace the pad.

An object of the present invention is to solve the above problems, by allowing the driver to visually know when to replace the pad when the pad is worn due to the braking operation, so that people who are insensitive to sound or hearing impaired people at the appropriate time To provide a wear visualization device of the pad for the caliper assembly to be replaced.

In order to realize the above object, the present invention, the sensor is installed to detect one or more fixed to the caliper and the friction material of the back plate and the inner pad of the pad to detect the rotating disk when the friction material is worn over a certain time, It receives the signal output from the sensor and detects the continuous signal according to the rotation of the disk, it outputs a pad replacement signal, and a monitor that can visually see the signal according to the output signal from the micom. It features.

Hereinafter, with reference to the accompanying drawings will be described a preferred embodiment of the present invention.

1 and 2 are a plan view and a schematic view showing a wear visualization device of the caliper assembly pad according to the present invention, one or more fixed to the caliper 53, the back plate and the inner pad (I) of the pad 50 Sensor 1, such as an infrared sensor, which is installed to detect the friction material B) and detects the disk D, which rotates when the friction material B is worn over a certain level, and is output from the sensor 1 A microcomputer 2 that outputs a pad replacement signal when a signal of a component (disk) is received by receiving a signal, and an LCD monitor for visually viewing a signal according to the output signal from the microcomputer 2; It consists of the same monitor (3).

That is, as the friction material B of the pad is worn in the state in which the sensor 1 senses the inner pad I, the caliper 53 gradually moves in the A direction and rotates when the pad is worn over a certain level. When the brake disc D, which is a component, is detected by the infrared sensor 1, a continuous signal is applied to the microcomputer 2, and the microcomputer 2 which detects the output of the pad replacement signal outputs a pad replacement signal. The video notifies the replacement.

Of course, the microcomputer 2 may output an image and output an alarm sound through the connected speaker 4.

Referring to the operation and effect of the present invention as described above, as the brake operation is repeated, the brake disc D and the pad 50 are rubbed, and the friction material B of the pad is worn by the friction.

When the friction material B of the pad 50 gradually wears, the gap between the brake disc D and the pad is substantially increased. When the brake is operated in this state, the piston presses the inner pad I. In addition, as the caliper 53 is worn in the A direction by the reaction force, the caliper 53 moves further.

That is, during the brake operation, the caliper 53 moves in the direction A in FIG. 2, and the movement distance moves more than the wear of the pad, and as a result, when the pad 50 wears to the wear limit, The sensor 1 installed in the caliper 53 detects a part of the brake disc D rotated.

When the sensor 1 detects a part of the brake disk D, the sensor 1 generates a continuous signal by the rotation of the disk D and the microcomputer 2 receives the continuous signal.

When the microcomputer 2 receives a continuous signal, it is determined that the wear limit of the pad 50 is determined, thereby outputting an image signal related to the wear limit indication.

When the image signal is output from the microcomputer 2, for example, the image of the pad 50 is output from the monitor 3, so that the driver can accurately recognize when to replace the pad.

In particular, in the case of people who are insensitive to sound or hearing impaired, the monitor 3 will be able to easily know when to replace the pad.

As described above, the present invention installs a sensor such as an infrared sensor on the caliper to detect the back plate and the friction material of the inner pad, so as to detect the disk when the pad is worn over a certain limit and output the pad replacement time to the monitor. There is an advantage to being insensitive to sound or hearing impaired when the pads are replaced.
